Beto gave him a run for his money the last time. I don't think he is bullet-proof, this weather thing, his part in trying to overturn the election, and I am sure he will do another bone-headed move to add to this list before the next election.

He won't be up until 2024 and even if he would be up this cycle I don't doubt he would win between 55-60% of the election. 55% if the candidate that wins the Democratic primary is a great candidate and 60% if they are terrible.

You can hear that Texas Republicans aren't scared of their electoral chances caused by this storm.

2024 is a long way from now. Anything can happen between now and then.

It was a pipe dream (which I will admit I bought into) to believe Texas is turning blue any time soon. And any efforts to do so are being masterfully countered by gerrymandering to make the votes of non-whites less impactful.

When the approval of those who support these politicians ends, we will see improvement. I don't have any hope of seeing that in my life-time with the rabid tribalism we are experiencing. We can't even get people to wear masks, let alone push for a new direction for our political system. It tiresome dealing with gerrymandering since we have been complaining about it for decades now. To many endless futile battles

"Judge Clay Jenkins, the chief executive of Dallas County, told MSNBC on Thursday morning that Joe Biden's administration was assisting with his city's response to the record-breaking storm. He hasn't heard from Texas governor Greg Abbott." yahoo! news" He is too busy blaming alternative energy on TV.

Abbott had plenty of time to go on Hannity and blame wind turbines, but help? Nah

How is it that El Paso is on the national grid, but the rest of Texas is not?
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

Yup. We like to coddle our elected officials and not judge them too harshly. Unless they are on the other side.
