Pitching has been stellar the first two games thus far.

    Not.

Abreu looked nasty and rough. That curve is sick.

Extremely grateful to be healthy and back on the mound in a game. I really missed the feeling of competing. There’s nothing quite like the combo of adrenaline/butterflies. Excited to continue the build up into the season!

If and when he learns to control it all....look out!

Jordan Montgomery will start tomorrow against the Orioles in Sarasota. Corey Kluber goes Wednesday vs. the Blue Jays.

Did Sanchez change his swing? I only saw a couple from a side angle but it looked like he was keeping both hands on the grip all the way through the swing. Lets hope today is the start of a great season for him, that was a bomb he hit today

Problem is he is out of options. If he doesn't learn to control it now, he will be learning to control it on another team.

True and agree. Considering the roster crunch he has some convincing to do. Rock and a hard spot imo.

OF Greg Allen has been outrighted off the Major League roster(40 man) and onto the Triple-A roster. Allen remains in Major League camp.

I thought that i read or saw posted here that Abreau might have one option left. All the stuff is there for him to be an absolutely dominant reliever but he has to figure out where its going. He really just needs live reps as a reliever to hopefully get an idea where its going. It would be a shame to loose him because if he is out of options and he doesn't make the 26 man it will take a team about 5 secs to claim him. If he is for sure out of options, were really going to be in a rock and hard spot with him.

Day, I believe he's out of options. Maybe they stash him in the pen as a long guy and spot starter.

“Long a top Yankees prospect, Albert Abreu is out of big-league options. That status kept Luis Cessa around in 2020 and he pitched well out of the bullpen. Easy to see a way the Yankees try to look at Abreu, a career starter in the minor leagues, as a gas-throwing swingman. Especially considering Abreu’s long-running control issues,” Brendan Kuty of NJ.com wrote.

I'm sure your right, i just remember seeing somewhere that said he had 1 more. I agree he's done as a starter, he just needs to show enough that he deserves to make the team. It would just suck to lose an arm like that for nothing

I really hope abreu forces the Yankees to keep him , this spring . If not then this would be the latest example of keeping a prospect for too long .

If he did, I believe Judge made the same change a year or two ago.
