Brantley's got a really long history of injuries. Who knows if he even plays more than 140 games this year.

He would've been nice to have, but I'm with wamco: time to shore up the rotation.

I think it would have been an issue if he played OF but not if he DHed. Springer and Guirriel also have had a history of not playing full seasons though so maybe it was a good thing.
