Dunno who that prospect is but he's young and had decent numbers in 2019.

But lucheesi is nice SP depth, 27-28 year old lefty who has two years of 130-160 IP but 4+ ERA

Lucchesi under control for 4 seasons. I'll take that deal for our #14 prospect. He's a solid #4/5 SP.

This is even better than signing a Paxton or Walker who'll cost a lot more. Maybe they are saving some cash for Hand and/or Springer?

Who knows... We keep hearing rumors about players but then unexpectedly making pretty good trades.

Nice! Solid backend starter. He’s got a funky delivery with a ton of moving parts, but he gets it done. Sits around 88-92 with a cutter/slider and change that he uses very often against RHB. Goodbye Matz tbh.

This should help make room for Springer.

Yeah think this means we void Matz contract. I love this because at worst, he is AAA depth and rather see someone like him starting than a Corey Oswalt

Kid that signed for cheap from DR.

He has a real good hit tool with some raw power. He is a switch hitter.

Plays all over the place, C, outfield and first base. Pretty athletic if can play all all those positions.

Mets were developing him as a catcher because well if he can hit and catch that’s a plus.

I saw him as a guy that would rise through the system if indeed he stayed at catcher and is only a year older than Alvarez.

Yeah he can be one of those prospects that get more attention in the future. Possibly a 7-10 prospect in a good system. Assume this gotta mean we are confident about Springer and/or Hand and probably wanted some depth so we can save 5M from Matz

He had 2 starts last year which I am not going to even care about.

They got a guy that can be a 4th or 5th and till 2024.

Now they have deGrom, Carrasco, Luchessi, Peterson signed past next year and for another 3 years after that.

Easier to fill one spot after 2021 than 2-3 spots.
