BTW with Pederson every HC hired in 2016 has been fired, including Gase twice.
Three ways he could leave:
1. New coach doesn't want him. Unlikely with the owner assembling the entire coaching staff, but it's probably how this became a news item, i.e. "I got options".
2. He gets hired as OC for another team -- possible in case one of the many QB gurus to become HC want. OC under an offensive HC is not that important but it can be used to poach people now.
3. He just stays until his contract is up. If it's only 1 year then it's pretty pointless...in that case Lurie might even agree to terminate his contract.
Jason Garrett is a perfect example of why that’s a bad idea. If he’s thrown into the fire before he’s ready it could take him 2-3 years before he’s actually ready. Obviously I would like him to stay with the Cowboys but ultimately the Cowboys will be fine even without Kellen Moore. I just think this would be a really bad hire for the Eagles.

I’m not sure who they should hire as a HC but if they are going to stick with Wentz I would seriously consider hiring Norv Turner as a QB coach. He has a great track record of working with QB’s. He’s old as **** now but he definitely knows what he’s doing when it comes to mentoring and coach QB’s.

My point is that this entire field of potential coaching candidates is very underwhelming. It's a crapshoot anyway. Pederson turned out to be the best of the 2016 hires, but was universally rated as the worst. Then add to this that the Eagles position isn't particularly inviting. So if Lurie ends up hiring some guy I have no idea if he will be a good HC or not, I'd rather hurt the Cowboys in the process.![]()
They better not pry Kellen from Dallas. He is our future head coach and it allows me to align my college fandom with my pro football fandom. If Kellen Moore coached in Philly I just don't know what I'd do. Have to drink myself to sleep everynight.
Heh, Wentz + first gets traded to the Cowboys for a tag-and-trade Dak. Wentz finally has all the weapons Dak did, and still puts up bad numbers, while the Eagles hire Kellen away from Dallas. Dak makes the playoffs for the Eagles as the division winner.
Annnnnnnd... go!
Dak: 17,634 @ 66.0%, 7.7 per att, 106+24 TD, 40 INT+34 FMB, 97.3 Rate
Wentz: 16,811 @ 62.7%, 6.7 per att, 113+8 TD, 50 INT+58 FMB, 89.2 Rate
"Hater" is a term used by weak minded people in the face of legitimate criticism.
