Are you guys OK if the Lions hire a head coach before a GM?

If the lions have interviewed “there guy“ do you think they should wait until the higher the general manager?

Everything I’m reading looks like this is our guy:

Robert Saleh, San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator
Background: San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator (2017–present), Jaguars linebackers coach (2014–2016), Seattle Seahawks defensive quality control coach (2011–2013), Houston Texans assistant linebackers coach (2009–2010), Houston Texans defensive quality control coach (2006–2008), Houston Texans defensive intern (2005), Georgia defensive assistant (2005), Central Michigan defensive assistant (2004), Michigan State defensive assistant (2002–2003).
Looks like his wife ordered a cake saying congratulations Coach with blue icing...

So if that’s the case, why risk of losing him to Jacksonville? Hire the guy. Then I think we would be forced to hire a general manager with experience. Maybe the guy from Seattle?

Get your guy, whoever and whenever that is. They need to get this hire right so if you are sure the coach is the guy don't waste time. Same for the GM. I'm pretty sure all parties involved know the scenario and are in some what communication about what plans are and what to expect.

I would prefer the GM get hired and then that guy hire his coach. But we're the lions so of course the coach gets a job first.

I’d prefer hiring the GM first but I think why wait for another team to hire your guy. Hiring your guy now gives him the best opportunity to put together the best coaching staff. I remember when Patricia was hired so late in the season that i felt he didn't get his “first picks” for positions (especially the DC).

I'd be okay with it, but basically there would then be some sort of stipulation. The stipulation would be that the GM we end up hiring actually wants to work with the head coach and vice versa.

oh I must have missed the part where those offensive coaches were so much better than the defensive ones. How about Jim Caldwell then he was an offensive coach you wanted him ousted too. What I am saying is offense, defense doesn't matter who or what the guy coaches as long as he can coach and manage a team. If you want to get technical Patricia was an Offensive Line coach who moved to the defensive side of the ball so what kind of coach was he offense or defense because he did both.

Also, I think Jacksonville is pretty set on Meyer being the guy. Yes?
