Won't ever happen. It's like a drug to them.

He's still the king in the GOP until THEY reject him.

Trump, for all his faults, has a large number of supporters that agree/follow him and will vote the way he says. That give him the power until those supporters stop supporting. Rejecting him, and inviting his wrath is the quick way to a primary loss. No wonder the GOP pols are unwilling to challenge him.

I suspect the only way the GOP gets rid of Trump is if he either dies or gets bored with politics. That's when the real fun begins. Can DeSantis or someone else grab the leadership of the Trump wing or does it split up into a dozen micro single issue groups. Pretty sure the mainstream GOP leadership is hoping for the latter.

Trump has no traction anymore, and he's only losing ground.

Among moderates. But not amongst the cultists on the right. He controls the people who can get through the primaries.

There’s plenty of former dems who were far left who supported Trump

Trump doesn’t dictate who wins our primaries and get elected. Nice try though!

    I don't think that's close to true.

His record in the primaries are pretty well documented. 538 makes some caveats but the facts are what they are. Numbers in the high 90’s.
