So tonight is "Erev Rosh Hashana" for the Jewish people which means that starting sundown, we begin a New Year, 5782 according to the Jewish calendar.
And since the Old Testmanent is very much a part of the Christian Bible, I thought I would wish a Happy New Year to my Christian friends as well!!

Traditionally, Jews observe the New Year by praying in Temple and then noshing on an Apple dipped in Honey to symbolize the coming of a sweet New Year. But it is a very solemn holiday, not one filled with noise makers and champagne that we're accustomed to in our secular lives. Rosh Hashana is a two-day observance ending on Wednesday evening.

It actually starts the beginning of a 10-day period ending with Yom Kippur, the Holiest of Jewish holidays, our Day of Atonement.

But I digress.

L' Shana Tovah all!!! Happy New Year!!! Happy 5782!!!!
