I like the upside on Campbell. Feeling kinda meh about slayton. I feel like they should of chose between him and shep.

    WRs are
    Hodgy
    Robinson
    Campbell
    Slayton
    Shepard
    Smith

Are any of those guys #2s?

I still say they need to draft one early. I get that waller was the big receiving splash but that’s different than having a threat on the perimeter

Don’t know if there’s a real option there. But we definitely have more depth and talent there overall.

Agreed. Do not think we have a true #2 (at least in name alone) as much as a collection of #3. Would love to see an investment in receiver in the draft and I would even consider pulling a trigger on Hopkins if the asking price is low.

I like that we have more depth in the WR position than last year but also feel we need a true #1 and now I dunno if we will allocate resources for one after these moves.

The WR room seems complete now with

    Slayton
    Hodgins
    Wandale
    Campbell
    Shepherd
    Smith

So I can also see them wanting resources to go elsewhere. Thus I don't love what we did but also can't hate it as it is better than last year

Cant really trust shep and robinson coming off those injuries. I say WR is still in play. Needs still imo #1 type WR, Guard, Center, CB and Safety. I havent seen anywhere if we restructured williams or anyone. Could free up some more cap space.

Apparently we reworked Waller's contract so don't think he has 0 guarantee after this year anymore

Yeah, freed up around 8 million in cap space this year and spread it out, so shouldn't be bad in the following years still.

Sounds like I may be in the minority here. But I'm not in love with any receivers in this draft.

Next year is supposed to be much stronger for the receiving group.

This draft is loaded with solid defense backs, and with the amount of investments they've made short term with some of these WRs, I think they're gonna heavy on with DBs in this draft. I could see them taking 3 DBs overall.

I think they draft 2 DBs and a Center with their first three picks and get a TE/RB/WR in rounds 4/5.

Not in love with the receiver class either. Probably same with Joe Schoen so he went with quantity in free agency as he didn't see much quality. Now freeing up this 8M is interesting, wonder what they have in their plans with that money. Hope for Thielen or DHop but probably done with WR until like day 2-3

I do like a couple of the first round receivers but we’d have to go up to get them. Maybe Schoen doesn’t feel like consolidating more draft capital with several needs remaining and dwindling g cap space/talent on the FA market. If that’s the case I doubt we would trade two more this year for a Hopkins type. Maybe they can pull it off with next years 2 and this years 5? Idk. Def better WR room but still pales in comp to most of the league. I like the upside of Campbell Hodgy and wandale but they are still question marks at this point.

Still need two starting interior OL, starting corner. Lost love I guess belton steps in? I like him but again that’s a depth issue. The lack of restructuring/extensions/cuts at this juncture is a bit puzzling. I figured Schoen had some plans to free up additional cash with having to use the tag in bark and giving Danny the bag but so far not so much.

We are bringing in a DL on Monday to talk. Guess depth piece as our front 4 is pretty solid already?

He's been traded 4 times. Seems fishy.

Giants are signing former cornerback Leonard Johnson to a three-year contract. Healthy again, Johnson impressed the Giants during a workout today and now is being signed by Joe Schoen and coached by Brian Daboll, Wink Martindale.

He was a Duke CB who tore his ACL last year and missed the season. Has a good amount of upside in a system like Winks. It's a 3 year deal which is the standard UDFA signing which this is classified as.

Seems likely they're going to draft a center at some point this year.

Feliciano just signed a deal with the 49ers.

I heard they're also considering Brederson there as a stop gap but I'd like to see a true center who played the position in college, not another guard convert.
