I wouldnít pick up the option on any of three firsts that year; Jacobs, Abram or Ferrell. Iíd resign Ferrell long term at 6-8 million a year. But thatís it.

March 17 starts the new season and FA acquisition can begin.

Apr 29th thru May 1st is the draft. Or for Raider fans "Doom's Day"

Probably not until the couple days leading up to March 17...what happens if a bunch of the top FAs get franchise tagged over the next two weeks? Then youíve cut all these guys to make 40 million in cap space and their isnít any guys out there worth spending the 40 million on.

At least David Irving who Raiders resigned seems to be taking advantage of his second chance with the Raiders.

Also with anyone with an Athletic sub here is a really good article on Irving:

Same here Hunter, same here. This guy is a fool. I do have high hopes that Irving is going to continue to improve his life and do well for us. He is a big body with skills.

I mean, the only thing Irving is guilty of is smoking a lot of weed...Itís not like heís out here beating women and children or shooting people. Plus, Iím biased because he played high school ball about 5 minutes from my house haha

I did a breakdown of Josh Jacob's stats for the first and second half of his only two seasons:
He missed 1 game in 2020 and 3 in 2019.
    2020 1st half yds. 588 161 carries
    2019 1st half yds. 740 152 carries
    2020 2nd half yds. 477 112 carries
    2019 2nd half yds. 410 90 carries

As you see there is some credence to Josh Jacobs diminishing production in the 2nd half of the season.

The Raiders need a thumper back like Tyrone Wheatley back in the day. We could of have had Derrick Henry but we took Jihad Ward with the 44th pick of the 2016 draft. Tennessee chose Derrick Henry on the 45th pick. If we do draft a RB at any point let's get Rhamondre Stevenson from Oklahoma. He is not as tall as Najee Harris but he is 6'0" and 230 plus lbs.

Going off the numbers your provided.

    2019 1st half average 4.87
    2019 2nd half average 4.55

    2020 1st half average 3.65
    2020 2nd half average 4.26

He was injured the second half of the season in 2019 and I'm sure it effected his stats. A fractured shoulder blade would definitely reduce my running effectiveness. Kudos to him for playing through the pain & still averaging 4.5 yards a carry.

He had a patchwork line all season in 2020 many times with 3rd string O lineman. Miller is a pass protector and not much of a run blocker. Young and Parker aren't even close to Brown in run blocking.

Not making excuses for the man just adding some perspective.

Story of our draft history each and every year. The guy selected after we pick is typically a future HOF'mer

    @JohnClaytonNFL
says JJ Watt won't be coming to Pittsburgh. Tennessee, Green Bay, and Buffalo are the 3 teams. Raiders as a dark horse.

Williams is a good #2 WR. Just got hurt both seasons. I wouldnt mind bringing him back at a much lower contract.
