2021 Farm System -- Lewis, Balazovic and Co.

    https://www.milb.com/milb/news/state...innesota-twins
The Twins have some decent talent in their system with Lewis and Balazovic possibly the best of the bunch. Trevor Larnach and Alex Kirilloff will compete for the starting left field spot in the majors and the other will likely be in St. Paul this year. My money would be on Kirilloff, but Larnach could make the bigs playing some outfield and some 1B. I think I'd like to see him get regular time at one position, rather than being a utility guy at this point in his career.

I am really looking forward to writing about these guys this summer. I missed the writing last year. These guys are talented and could be really good.

Minnesota Twins: Give Alex Kirilloff space to grow and settle -- The Twins made a bit of a shock move when they brought up their No. 2 prospect to make his Major League debut in the postseason of all places. Kirilloff even started in right field in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series against the Astros, going 1-for-4. Flash forward a few months, and Minnesota has an opening in left after non-tendering Eddie Rosario. The job seemingly should be Kirilloff's to claim, and if he can win it in the spring, he should be given ample time to settle into the role. Kirilloff brings plus potential in his hit tool and above-average power from the left side, and the Twins thought highly enough of those skills to give him meaningful at-bats with the season on the line in late September. Barring injury or serious performance issues in Spring Training, there aren't many good on-the-field reasons to leave him on the outside looking in again to open 2021.

Ft Myers has started the year off 2-0 this year. In the first couple of games, SS Keoni Cavaco and Eduard Julien have started off well at bat.
Cedar Rapids has also started off 2-0. 2B Spencer Steer (3rd round '19), 3B Seth Gray (4th round '19), RF Matt Wallner (CBA round '19), and 1B Gabe Snyder are all off to good starts. I've seen these guys play and they look decent.
Wichita is also 2-0. OF Aaron Whitefield (foreign FA, '15) has made his MLB debut for the Twins and seems to be ready to continue his ascent up the ladder until he is a major league regular.
    St. Paul is 1-1.

No games for the entire system today. I hope everyone gets some rest and comes out ready to roll tomorrow.
