the only benefit is giving that player what the team feels he's worth, if the Player for example Aayton feels he deserves more than the team is smart IMO to wait and see what offers come in and simply match. guys who want it all sometimes just don't get it, we've seen this movie before and some then search for any contract they can get. Not saying that is the case for Aayton but remember in FA only teams with cap can make offers and teams that need that player (position) so the odds are always with the current team if they want the player back.

The flip side is to technically answer your question, it's called relationship, these players again like Aayton are young enough and will remember and then next FA could be why they go elsewhere, seen that movie before as well.

Now with Mitch we need to hope Knicks and him come to an agreement because he will become unlike all the ones in the article a UFA, and he can go wherever he pleases and get whatever he can get.

Same thing with Brunson in Dallas, these two intrigue me during the season to see what each team and players will do.

Exactly. Relationship goes both ways though. I remember it was said by some Ayton was an easy max guy. Apparently Phoenix doesnít agree. Bridges would fall into the same category. Very nice player, but whatís his actual market value?

so much for all those Brog rumors:

    Bobby Marks

Because the contract is for a total of four seasons (the current contract and extension), Brogdon is not allowed to be traded this season.

Wow imagine if Harden signs elsewhere after what the Nets gave up?

    Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, first-round picks in 2022, 2024 and 2026 and swaps in 2021, 2023, 2025 and 2027

James Harden and the Nets did not agree to an extension before yesterday's midnight deadline.

Harden is not eligible to sign an extension during the season.

Harden has a player option for 2022-23, but is expected to opt out and become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Then you have to wonder what is going through KD's mind?

I would take harden on this team I know some people are stuck up on young superstar but harden is still one of the top players in league.
