I believe his contract has a 19 million dollar cap hit, but there’s also the fact that mariota is definitely going to have suitors meaning there would be a bidding war for him.

I feel similarly about jacoby brisett who’s going to also have suitors

Eagles need a good, vet backup who’s cheap. Who that is? I have no clue. Tyrod Taylor could potentially be an option.

Initially I thought he was a FA.

That said, sign the cheapest backup possible. Gut the roster. Hurts should sell tickets and keep fans interested with his running and flash plays. Get value for who ever you can trade and get rid of bad deals. Rebuild this thing the right way and you are competing in 2023.

We need a vet in the form of McCowan or Orlovski to mentor Hurts and be understanding of their role and help us tank if Hurts gets injured.
