Hmmm....
The line up natives think can win the NBA title...
PF: Kyle O'Quinn
C: Joakim Noah
SF: Carmelo Anthony
PG: Stephon Marbury
SG: Meta World Peace
The reality of the Knicks in 2020-21
PF: Julius Randle
SF: RJ Barrett
C: Noels
PG: Elfrid Payton
SG: Austin Rivers
The team I wished was present:
PF: Old Man Toppin
SF: RJ Barrett
C: Mitchell Robinson
PG: Dennis Smith JR
SG: Frank Ntilikina
We're going to suck anyways. These kids need the minutes. They're not going to learn from scrubs.

Things are looking a lot like last yr, just with better coaching. Not sure if many were paying attention but Thibbs clearly leans towards vets and as it stands, Frank and Knox look to be the odd men out. Frank is buried and so is Knox. No room at guard because we know Payton will play and I think the org sees more upside and potential in DSjr.
As SG, they will play Rivers as RJ's backup, and we have a shooter in quickly who may be the 3rd SG
At SF, there's Burks, Bully, and then Knox MIGHT see a few minutes.
At PF there's Obi and Randle god forbid...
More of the same from the Knicks. No matter who we play, we're not gonna win games so why in the world is the goal to lose by 5pts as opposed to 10 just by playing vets? Thibbs didn't even have a lot of positive things to say about Mitch..."he needs to learn a lot, learn to impact winning more, practice more professionally"..etc Then he immediately segued to Noel and how good he is. Mitch better watch out...
It wouldn't shock me. All depends on Mitch. If Mitch is really Rudy Gobert type that we all want him to be then he will get his act together and Noel will be a 15mpg player. If Mitch is a headcase and doesn't give max effort or is a foul machine and we will be relying on Noel a lot more than anyone wanted to. Not a knock on Noel, just saying. Mitch's upside is so much higher.
Kristaps Porzingis
Stronger than most 15 year old girls.
What I would do:
Mitch
Obi
Bullock
RJ
Rivers
What I think Thibs will do to start:
Mitch
Randle
Bullock
RJ
Rivers
I know, "Rivers isn't a PG," but he's played both guard positions throughout his career, this would also provide more spacing than starting Payton and allow RJ to handle more of the ball handling duties. It's basically a better version of the opening night starting lineup with RJ and Rivers and is similar to what the Knicks did down the stretch of games anyway, having RJ as more of a primary ball handler.
During his interview yesterday, Thibs mentioned wanting RJ to focus on playmaking and knowing when to pass and when to score, so wouldn't be shocked if Rivers ends up starting.
They won’t do this but the most interesting 10 man rotation to me is probably:
Frank-Burks-RJ-Obi-Mitch
DSJ-Rivers-Bullock-Spellman-Noel
Genuinely feel like that gives us the best chance to win but whatever.
