    2021 NFL Draft Discussion Thread

Since we all love talking about the draft I thought we could get a head start on it.

I'm pretty fixated on getting another Oline guy in the first and my main target is Wyatt Davis G, from OSU. Though It we end up looking at the tackle route if Reiff doesn't come back and we keep Cleveland at G. I'm intrigued with Samuel Cosmi T from Texas. Reminds me of O'neill in that he is very athletic but needs to gain more strength. I would love to get him in the mid to late teens where I believe we will be drafting.

We don't currently have a 2nd round pick because of the Yannick trade...doubled up in the 3rd after sending him to Baltimore....whether that effects our strategy or not, dunno

As of Oct. 27, 2020, here are the 2021 draft picks the Vikings hold for April's NFL Draft:
    1st Round Pick
    3rd Round Pick
    3rd Round Pick (From Ravens)
    4th Round Pick
    4th Round Pick (From Bears)
    4th Round Pick (From Bills)
    5th Round Pick
    5th Round Pick (From Ravens)
    5th Round Pick (From Steelers)
    6th Round Pick
    7th Round Pick
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

Yes, yes...it is time. I've been starting to do a lot of mocks on TDN. 6 picks in the first 4 rounds is a great amount and can allow for some moves if needed. We have the luxury to possibly move down in the first and then possibly up again into the first depending on who we may look at targeting. How great would it be to come away with perhaps an OG and DT in the first. Then we will likely need to draft Ant's replacement would be my guess but there appears to be a plethora of Safetys in that 3rd round range.

Made a few trades and I really thought about taking Shaun Wade at 27 but I felt getting Trask under a 5th year option and also he would be a good fit to sit at least a year maybe the full 2 years behind Kirk.

7 picks in the first 4 is outstanding. Those are mainly the guys I keep seeing as well. I don't know anything about Christian Barmore from Alabama but his size reminds me of KWill. It sounds like he is an unfinished product as well.

I read hes starting to play better recently. Sounds like a high upside player but I dont know if he can be a 3T. Hes about 65 310 and probably still growing. Zimmer supposedly prefers his 3T to be a little undersized and quick.

It makes sense. We just need someone to create some push. Damn I can't wait for this draft. Sucks not having a second but we can easily make our way back into the second. I feel we'll be doing a lot of moving.

What do we know about Samuel Cosmi? Sounds line he has some pretty big upside. He'd obviously be our LT but that still leaves a hole at LG. Do we attempt to move Reiff inside in this scenario? Or, do we say **** it and draft a guy like Davis and plug him in? Personally I'm on the David wagon. Reiff, Davis, Bradury, Cleveland and O'Neill look solid on paper.

DT prospects are a little bleak the next two drafts. Not a lot of 1st round talent, doesn't mean they can't develop but it looks like we may have to go the FA route if we want a Sheldon Richardson type of impact.

I was looking at the list of FA and 1 guy pops up that lives off of 1-2 year deals but is still pretty good. How would you all feel about adding Suh for a year or two? A DL of Hunter, Pierce, Suh, ?? would be pretty damn good on paper. We then go and draft a DT in the 3rd to develop.

I would love to have Leonard Williams but he's going to cost a lot of $$.
