Noels not bad at all. He defends well can block some shots. He’s a good backup.
Spurs Sim league
2 time Champion 653-331
You made up the odds though. He has no baseline bc he has never played a game and the idea that players improve in leaps and bounds bt 19 and 22 and then stop is just incorrect. If he stinks as an older rookie that is a bigger concern. Hopefully he’ll be pretty good. If he is i expect him to get better

I didn’t make up anything. Look at the track record of players who get drafted at 22 years and older. Hardly any of them make it. It’s because they don’t get any better.
Even Smood who is high on Obi, agrees he’s an exception to the rule.
Also, no one is saying Obi can’t get better. Sure, he’ll get marginally better with experience. But most players do most of their developing at a very young age.
You said guys don’t get better after 22. They do. Now it’s guys who get drafted at 22 don’t get better . next to no one gets drafted at 22 anymore bc guys with that level of talented are identified super early most of the time. This one was 7 inches shorter in HS so he wasn’t.

I never said guys don’t get better after 22. I said the majority of development occurs between 19-22, or generally very early on. It’s rare that a player will all of a sudden turn into a star at a later age of like 26-28. Usually, the player is a star at around 23-25 and they become marginally better over time with experience.
Obi had his growth spurt as a junior in HS. He got redshirted as academically ineligible at Dayton. Play pretty well at a redshirt freshman, and then became the lottery pick we know him as a redshirt sophomore, or essentially a junior.
I think the odds are against him turning into a vastly different player than what we saw last yr.
