Yes, but not as badly as popular vote.

So say you want to go popular vote, than each state would need to have the same number of people there by normalizing the electoral process. That would work also. Say, 2 senators and 1 Rep for each state of one million people. California then becomes like 40 states. That would help keep the balance of power equally spread against a very unequally spread straight popular vote.

EDIT: Make that say every 3-5 million becomes a state. a little more doable.

You have you election laws and requirements clearly posted at the board of elections, You have all your time frames posted. You have all your acceptable IDs posted. You make sure everything is posted at least six months in advance. You make sure there are enough voting stations (determined by county population.)

If people can't figure this out, they are not disenfranchised…they are dumb. And maybe we don't really need them to vote anyway.

The senate to me is very balanced. Each state gets the same vote. No matter what. It signifies United.

I do think House reps need to be re-evaluated to say when a state gets the second candidate, etc.

Senate doesn’t fairly represent the population though. It’s based on land borders which after western expansion makes very little sense.

Both the Senate and the Electoral College were actually based on a practical compromise, in part due to the desire on the part of some of the original 13 states to maintain slavery.
