What did OKC get for taking CP3? It would have to be similar to that if not more since Wall hasn't played in 2 years. If he plays well you might even be able to get another team to bite like OKC did with CP3.

The OKC/CP3 model is actually a path to take a massive contract like Wall + assets, get the player to play well again in a solid role that you need to fill anyway, and then get a team to take him off your hands once his contract gets closer to its term.

Wouldn't be a horrible strategy for the Knicks to leverage their cap space if the assets we get in return are right.

I'm starting to convince myself to take Wall for some really good assets. If Wall plays well enough there is a shot you can trade him later on. Nobody thought CP3 would be traded again and they actually got assets back in return for him. The CP3 situation was masterful by Presti. I think you could do something similar with Wall.

We could do Randle/DSJ/Davis (approx. $30M) for Wall ($41M), Deni ($4M), 2021 1st and 2022 swap and still have significant cap space this or next offseason. If we wanted to open up more room this offseason, we could sign Burks using our MLE instead of him signing into our cap space.

If we miss out on FVV, I would love to sign Reggie Jackson. I know he played for Detroit, but he missed a lot of games and played well for both Detroit and the Clippers after the trade. Would be a nice stop gap as I like him much better than the other available options.

Why would we want either of Westbrook or Wall? Both non-shooting, injury-riddled, past their prime, overpaid, nobody wants to play with them, etc.

Absolutely. And not just Presti, look what Griffon did. Their team got better and he added multiple firsts and pick swaps.

Yeah I would do the deal with 2021 first + more picks. A 2023 swap would be interesting as well.

This seems to be asking for a little bit too much.

2021 first + 2023 first is a ton of value in itself.
