In a bid to get back to .500 the overachieving Knicks face the most talented bad team in the NBA, the Washington Wizards led by All-Star duo Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook
Random Thoughts
1. William Wesley aka World Wide Wes: Yaron Weitzman's "Behind the scenes" article kind of gives positives and negatives with Wes. On one hand, he begged the Knicks to trade back up to get Immanuel Quickley. Can you imagine if the Knicks didn't do that? Their draft would be an absolute bust. On the other hand, this guy is a bit inappropriate: Taking a Zoom meeting while changing shirts. Playing Jay Z's Empire State of Mind to the Front Office. Now, allegedly this guy is the Pied Piper of free agents. Well, the Knicks attracted no big names last off-season. Maybe if Wes gets some "alone time" with Beal, he might help entice him to force a trade to the Knicks? Leon Rose and William Wesley were hand picked by Dolan because they had more connections to the stars than Dion Warwick's Psychic hotline. This off-season they better impress.
2. Kevin Knox plus future second round pick for Deni Avdija: Knicks need a 3. Wizards aren't really playing Deni. Knicks barely even call Kevin Knox to work.
3. Are you ready to play, who's the Point Guard: I feel like the Knicks' decimated point guard situation has created a shell game. Just hoping tonight, the guards have their A-game on.
4. Trap Game maybe: Y'know if Randle and Barrett have an off-game, could be trouble. Beal and Westbrook are automatic to score big numbers but the Knicks are rather limited when it comes to offense. Knicks should win. Key being should.
5. Bradley Beal's chances of being a Knick: Beal has $34.5M owed next season from the Wizards. He can say no to $37M player option and opt out. Can anyone see that happening so he can join the Knicks? Not even if World Wide Wes gives Beal, lap dances. The Knicks have to sign a player or draft a point guard that gets Beal's attention. Either Lonzo Ball/draft Cade Cunningham or Suggs.
Knicks should be focused and ready to get back to .500...Let's go Knicks!
