Tilman Frittita literally gave away a lottery pick to save money. Holy ****. This is a ****ing disgrace.

I'll take more picks!
Very savvy deal by Weaver and the Pistons. They have a lot of space and it was wise to take a team financial burden for draft capital. Lets be honest, Detroit even with all the money will not be a top destination so they have to think outside of the box. I like it.

I bet Morey is laughing his *** off.
God damn Fertitta sucks ***.
Ariza probably gonna be a FA now. Don't think Detroit will guarantee his contract.
So the Rockets traded Clint Capela and an unprotected 2020 first round pick for two protected 2021 first rounders.
**** this guy.
They're trying to play it off as this deal allowed them to fall below the hard cap and be able to offee the full $9.3M NTMLE. But I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, any move like this, I will just assume it's Tilman being cheap. **** Tilman Fertitta.
I honestly had to reread it about 8-9 times because I thought it was Hou getting a pick for Ariza.
The fact what they got back was so absurdly protected and in the future was just stupid.

It is, but I'm grading this trade as an INC for now until free agency. If they actually use the full MLE to sign an impact player (preferably a big), and Stone can put enough a decent enough roster around James to keep him happy another year, this trade will look a hell of a lot better. But if they end up doing a fire sale anyway, this will look totally idiotic.
I do think even with the protections, though, that pick could end up being better then No. 16 last night. It's only top 10 protected for two years and top 9 protected for one. Granted, that's four freaking years away...
