The only thing that I can think of is that when we had the 23rd pick they wanted maxey. When he went at 21st they decided to trade down and pick up an extra asset. But they didnít want to draft 3 rookies, so they traded the 2nd rounder for a future second round pick.

They must think 2023 will be a stacked draft, with high school kids entering the draft.

Either that or they made the trade for 23 in the event they had to trade up for Toppin, and when they didn't need it, they traded back down to get their guy and an extra asset.

I think the only thing clear is whatever they traded up for didn't matriculate so they traded back down.

And yes there is no point at all at adding another guy who isn't gonna get a roster spot here so might as well add a pick for the HS draft. We have guys like Iggy and Wooten on the roster already who deserve a shot, we don't need MORE late fliers.

I thought the Detroit Pistons did a nice job. Re-tooled nicely.

I second this. Drafted 3 two-way players. That's how you build.

I loved their draft. Same goes for Dallas.

The Bulls taking Patrick Williams with the #4 pick shocked me. I was expecting Deni.

My colleague @NJHoopsHaven with a really good look here at soon-to-be Knick and former Seton Hall star Myles Powell

Thatís the one thing that I donít like about the rose connection. I want to build a great team not a team of CAA clients.

Heís a shooting guard? Guy put up 9 threes a game, on like 30% but guess heís not afraid to fire away.

All you guys who love Zion in last years draft, I can't wait to see Obi dunk all over him.

Donít be fooled by last seasonís 3-point stat. He shot .306 from deep, which Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard attributed to an early-season concussion. Itís true that his accuracy nosedived after the head injury. His numbers as a sophomore and junior (.379 and .363, respectively) are better barometers, and many of those were NBA-range bombs.

Toppin is going to be an ok defender sooner or later.
He has all the tools needed.
He is long, athletic, can move his feet and he is willing to learn.
With Thibs in his ear this is going to happen eventually.
You can teach defense and we have the right coach for this.
Not saying he is going to be Anthony Davis defensively but not a black hole either.
Anyway That should be the least of our concerns
Lol itís not a stupid question heís 22 and is awful on defense thatís a lot of work for a coach to do. Some people never become an average defender
