I don’t get why the Kings did this. In fact I don’t get why teams help in S&T situations so easily and not get more in return.

Yup. Sixers last year. Bucks last year. Kings this year. All teams that basically let the guy walk away for very little.

Kings got 3 bench players for a starter. One of which is a carbon copy of a guy they already have too.

Ersan can be waived for cap releif. DJ wilson is a nothing burger for the most part. Donte looked like a nice player last year. Wasn't ready for the limelight in the playoffs, but had a nice regular season. Needs to shoot it better from 3, but he defends and can handle/create a little more than he's given credit for. Hes basically the gem.

Is it a great get? No, but if they aren't bringing him back anyways, why not get something for him. And getting a nice young player for basically free isn't a bad move.

This is a win win win for that franchise


Why would they even think of trading Middleton?

They wouldn't cause he's Giannis guy. All moves go thru Giannis at the same level as Lebron.

A S&T is basically a no go for us given we’re already over the hard cap. Best case there would be he signed for about $10mil and they took back Horford, Scott, and JRich.

I know it's a commonly used trope, but every dollar will legit count in this case. If they can get as much of that MLE as possible to use, it could be huge. Realistically, you'd like to go 7 or 8 deep at least with pretty good players, so having a full MLE could allow them to split it between a decent bench guard and a decent bench forward.

This is the thinking. Bogdan doesn't fit the Kings timeline. Divencenzo does.
