    Yep.

I know Joe can be a ball breaker but unless it's something egregious, which I doubt it is, Wilson needs to get on the field.
If this lasts more than the end of the week, the media is going to go to town on him.
It's not the way to start your career in NYC

What if Joe is getting ready to trade Wilson for Watson?

Doubt it would happen now, but.......

If it was a 1 on 1 swap and Watson doesn't miss any time, I'd be in favor of it.

Agreed. Pressure is 100% on the Jets here.

This has nothing to do with how much, itís the same stupid offset language
NFL did a good job structuring rookie deals, they should just make a decision on the offset language piece to end this garbage every year

I usually side with the player but this is literally about the potential of him being cut and missing out on an extra 3-4 mil because he won't be double paid.
If this is standard to Jets contracts, they should stick by it. Once you change it for one guy, you lose face.

I think Wilson is being a twat as much as the Jets are. I thought it would take till tomorrow for the media heat to start but it's already brewing. This kid is going to look really, really bad to a bunch of the fan base. and media. They will stick with him for a minute but they will quickly turn.

For the moment. That can change very quickly. If Wilson is smart, he signs sooner rather than later.

I think the reports about him being spoiled and selfish (true or not) will quickly come back into play. If that happens he looses all leverage.

Let's forget that it is Zach Wilson and it's the Jets.

Let's take Trevor Lawrence and let's say he gets a 4 year $40 million contract with Jags and he has complications from his recent surgery and when he suffers a leg or neck injury that's going to effect his career and then he comes back, he needs Tommy John and will be out 12 - 18 months. At the start of next year the Jags thinking he might never play again, cut him and spread the contract over 1st 2 years at $20 million per year. He still gets paid the $40 million that was guaranteed. Then, by some miracle or by sheer will and determination, he is able to play again 1 year later and there is a bidding war for his services and some team pays him $20 million. Should the Jags be forced to pay him $40 million and get no productivity, while he plays 1 year and makes $60 million?

    This.
That is the ONLY way this will not be a problem going forward.

For now though, Wilson is on the clock, as far as his grace period with the fans.
Joe D needs to tread carefully as well.

Rough day 1 in TC for Wilson.

We'll see his progress Aug 14 vs Giants.

I'd rather have the ghost of Pat Leahy kick, than another season of Ficken.
And Pat Leahy is alive and kickin'.
