Sports Illustrated article that among other things discusses fair compensation for Aaron Rodgers

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...f9989ef9&ei=14

I like the fact that the writer called around the league and asked what other teams felt was fair compensation ad they basically said a Day 2 pick and a conditional one next year.

If they did a second? Ok

If the Jets do that, I really hope they trade back and get a later first and second.

This is a business and the packers can clearly wait until they get the compensation they want and the jets are obviously the desperate ones here. They hired cant hackett and overpaid for lazard. They are all in and soon enough, they'll have no choice but to give in if GB continues to hold out.

    And what QBs are left?

Mariota, Foles, Wentz, Ryan, Bridgewater? As each day passes more and more QBs are getting signed. JD and Saleh's jobs are on the line. I'm sure the fans and woody would love it if they ended up having to settle for one of these QBs instead.
Stafford and Lamar are out there.
I noticed you don't mention them.

So let's get back to the question.....
What other NFL team do you like to root for?

SF has Purdy and Lance as well as Darnold. I don’t mind rolling the dice on Lance.

Not sexy but Matt Ryan is option. If we improve our line he wouldn’t be the world thing.

The jets need to bluff, talk to Rodgers and let him know he is the guy and start floating rumors on Lamar and company.

Btw we are at 13… I definitely think at least 1 of the top 4 guys fall to us. The jets need to play hardball with the Packers.

First step is to not trade before the draft. Post draft we can start with 2024 picks.

I think the Jets have the main piece going to GB finally available. JD and the Jets stealthy as ever signed Punter Thomas Morstead. This was the last piece needed to get the Rodgers deal done

Braden Mann, 2024 4th rounder for Rodgers

Just watched a Jets show on SNY from earlier this week, Bart Scott brought up moving Laken Tomlinson to center. Thought that was pretty interesting because it opens up drafting Jones or Skoronski and having them start at Guard (where I believe they belong). Also drafting a C in round 3/4 is not a bad idea, unless of course JMS is there with our second pick.

They also brought up Jalen Carter with the #13…wow, him and QW would be scary inside

This is a really fun off season
Every year for the last 5 years, "The Jets need, 2-3 OL, WR, TE, CB, Edge."
This year? "Jets need QB, 2-3 OL". Everything else is gravy. There is certainly area for improvement but they have those other spots in solid shape.

To me, that means the draft opens up significantly.
Right now, they have Brown, Becton, Mitchell (along with Smith) at T.
At guard, they have Schweitzer, Glaser, AVT, Tomlinson

So basically a stable of 7 OL out of what I would like to see as 10+ solid guys. There is no pure, C on the roster.
My hope is that they will find at leas one other solid OL in FA.
If they do that? They can take anyone at 13. If one to the top Ts isn't still there? Take a dominant DL or trade the **** back and take a C, T and DL with your first 3 picks.

(I would say they could also use a linebacker.)

This draft feels more about filling in with upgrades than it does flat out needs. That is unique.

Someone, (maybe you?) floated a ZW for Lance question. I would be all in on that.

I agree about Ryan and other names mentioned. There are QBs.
I also agree with sticking it to the Packers. (Insert ILC joke)

I don't mention them because they are far less likely to happen. I don't answer it bc it's a stupid ****ing question and it doesn't matter but since you won't shut up about it I'm a jets fan only. I play dynasty so I primarily root for players, not teams.

And I've mentioned Lamar 100x as I'd rather they go after him but instead these idiots want to dick around with a 40yr old who was 90% ready to retire.

I doubt you root for the Jets only.

Every football fan I know has another team they're fond of other than their fav team.

So that seems lke a fake answer.

And since the Jets don't do anything right ever, why not root for your other team, rather than spend time on the Jets and talking to 5 posters on an outdated site?

I think that dude is a complete troll, but I gotta say, I root for the Jets and the Jets only. If they aren't in the playoffs, I'll pick a team I prefer to win but I in no way actively root for any other team during the season.

Even if you don't openly root for another team, I bet you are fond of a team other than the Jets.

Look at it this way, if the Jets didn't exist, who would you root for?

I’m shocked at how inactive we’ve been in FA. Players are signing cheap deals and we haven’t shown any interest it seems. I don’t understand why? We have a ton of holes and cap room once we restructure/cut guys.

    Agreed.
I think it's all about the QB. My guess is they are being safe and making sure they can afford Rodgers and if not him, someone else
