Would have preferred Moore and a 4th for a 2nd, but since it seems like this might have been a link to the missing piece in acquiring Rodgers, I'm not all that upset.
Plus Hardman and Lazard are better deep threats than Moore, go figure.
Not sure if this would work but I’d like to see the trade for Rodgers structured more around players. Players with value but ones that can be replaced and ones that we likely couldn’t afford anyway.
For example, Lawson, Davis, Uzomah, Bryce Hall and Mims. Then there are guys we may not want but could be of interest to the Packers like Whitehead, Ashton Davis. The goal would be to not give any picks this year and instead give a conditional pick(s) next year
Then this year we can draft some quality players with those top 3 picks and / or trade down for more assets. Tackle is a need in the first or second round. If we don’t sign a C, that is also a big need. DT as well. I would love to see us get the best DT available at 42. If we sign a C, then we can address Safety at 43 and let’s say Broderick Jones at 13.
LB, Edge (it’s a deep draft at this position and Saleh can’t help himself), TE (another deep position), another DT (we rotate 4 so another solid DT will really help) are positions to target in the later rounds
I was looking at our roster and completely forgot that we signed Chazz Surratt last year. He was touted as having lots of potential as an athletic LB when he was drafted. Could be one of those guys who comes out of nowhere like Quincy and ends up playing this year.
Even if GB won’t accept players in lieu of picks I hope JD can get some picks in return for at least some of those players.
Jets signed Ty Johnson back on a 1 year deal (no terms disclosed). Insurance against Hall slow recovery from injury, since he is a similar outside speed running back.
The jets interest in Zeke is baffling, id much rather allocate that money elsewhere. I think CD is a part of the Aaron Rodgers Package, so maybe use that money for another WR? I'm totally ok with carter and TY starting the season. I have a feeling with Rodgers we will see a much less crowded box and almost any RB would play well.
Though he's lost some speed over the years, I feel there are two reasons for the Jets interest:
1) He's possibly the best pass blocking running back in the NFL
2) He's still a bulldog getting into the end zone because he's great in a short run and has great vision.
So, at least there's some rationale. However, the RB room is crowded even more now with Ty Johnson re-signed. Unless, of course, we are trading Michael Carter in the Aaron Rogers trade.
It always comes down to that.

Well yes, but there are multiple ways to manage it. The Jets have been conservative over the past several years and not being detrimental to future years for today.
However, we’re starting to see that shift in mentality. I hope JD keeps it reasonable with his Baltimore background
