I’m definitely down on Jimmy G even though I thought we should have traded for him before the season started. Seeing what Purdy did, devalued Jimmy G, but he does still get the job done and puts his team in a position to win.

I guess it comes down to his contract, is it very low $20M AAV with the ability to get out of it reasonably soon? Or is it closer to $30M AAV and you’re stuck with him for 4 or more years

Agreed. Purdy playing as well as he did, shines a light on how good or bad Jimmy is.
He's a solid game manager who can make some good throws. He's always injured.

    Right now your FAs
Lamar- He won't be a Jet
Daniel Jones- No thanks and he will be a Giant.
Mayfield- I always liked him. He is a hard worker. He plays hard. Good leader. He can make good throws.
    Jimmy G- We know
Sam Darnold- It would be weird but and he's not all that different, statistically, from ZW. He's a harder worker and a tougher guy but his accuracy is still suspect.
    Mason Rudolph- No thanks
Gardner Minshew- Interesting. Played well for Hackett in one season. Good arm. Hard worker. Good leader
Jacoby Brissett- Not a horrible option but certainly not sexy.
Chad Henne- Interesting. He played well for KC when needed. Is he a guy they might lose at because he's older and they think he could help ZW?

There is a long list but other names get less appealing.

I honestly think in a realistic, good for the team sense, taking all aspects into consideration

    Carr (If he's released)
    Mayfield
    Minshew
    Brissett
    Jimmy G
    Henne

    Would probably be my order

Rodgers talking about needing 4 days of isolated darkness to decide his future. Can we just stop wasting time with this guy? It's so ridiculous.

When it comes to QB's, if you are trading multiple 1sts for a guy, just do it and get Lamar Jackson to NY. I know he has had his injuries, but he can also be your franchise QB for a decade.

The other question you have to ask yourself is are the Jets on an upward trend, or was last year a false pretense for part of the season. If you look at who they defeated, their wins came against teams picking/original pick at #1, #5, #15, #17, and #27. Miami doesn't have a first round pick. So most of their victories were against below average teams.

With that being said, you lost games by the following numbers with very sub-par QB play across the board:

    5 points to New England
    7 points to New England
    5 points to Minnesota
    8 points to Buffalo
    3 points to Detroit
    5 points to Miami

If you put even Derek Carr or Daniel Jones on the NY Jets last year, the NY Jets are easily an 11 or 12 win team.

His girlfriend is a hippy witch named Blu of Earth. I don't expect anything less.

"Sources: The #Saints invited QB Derek Carr for a visit and the #Raiders have granted permission for that to happen. The plan is for a visit tomorrow. Carr, who has a no-trade clause, is doing due diligence and no trade is imminent."

I don't think they can afford Jackson's check.

But I totally agree about the wins. A competent QB would have had the Jets in the playoffs

Take with grain of salt but one of the comments says they've read all it will take is a 3rd and 5th and then Carr restructures his contract. The only way this meeting takes place is that the teams have essentially agreed to terms, so I think an offer has been made by the Saints.

Stats wise he's not better than Rodgers but Carr does have age on his side.

Why are you against Carr really though?
Just saying he's too soft is weak because Oakland was a hardcore football city.
    He played there for years.

    So what's the real reason?

I'm not against him. I just said I think he's soft and we're not getting him regardless, so doesn't really matter.

3 Blurbs I found when googling,"Derek Carr is soft." It doesn't include a podcast in which Suh calls him flat out, soft.

    1-
“He is sensitive and needs encouragement, and that is not the style he is going to get,” an offensive coach said to Sando. “When someone shows disappointment in him, he shrinks. The head coach not coming out and completely endorsing him has to be eating him alive."

    2-
“We knew once we hit him a few times, he really gets shook,” Bosa said at the time. “And you saw on [Christian Covington‘s fourth-quarter] sack he was pretty much curling into a ball before we even got back there.

    3-
Derek Carr has had to deal with an extraordinary amount of adversity during his time with the Raiders and he may be one of the best leaders in the NFL. When it comes to his talent he is very capable of being a starting quarterback in this league however it’s becoming clearer that he may not be good enough to take the Raiders beyond what he has accomplished in nine years.

    -------------------
To me, the first quote is the most concerning.

    The second quote,
If you look at some of the game that led to the Bosa quote, you can see Carr prepping for the hit instead of looking downfield. The fact that both Bosa and Suh are saying the same thing, makes me think there is some truth. If he get gun shy easily, that is a concern.

However, that last quote about his leadership and talent is affirming.
I also think Carr is going to force his release from the Raiders. He has a full NTC. I don't think he's going to help the Raiders. He can force the Raiders to pay him and then try to trade him or just release him.

I don't see any reason he would help the Raiders by accepting a trade and netting them picks, when he can make either a ton of money or be able to choose his destination.

If any of that is true, Carr and ZW are two peas in a pod

How the Saints are even talking to him is amazing, their salary cap may be the worst in the league
