Tanehill is actually an interesting option. I wonder if they pick up his option? It won't be cheap but he was solid for them. As we are seeing, solid is just fine if you have a great D.

I also wonder if because of so many teams wanting QBs, they roll with who they know.

If they let him walk? He would certainly be an interesting option

Minsahw? Another interesting option. Aside from last year, he had a really good QB-INT ration and had decent accuracy. A cheap little, reunion with Hackett?

The non-sexy players might not be the worst route.

Yeah, I was actually surprised Minshew wasn't a starting QB somewhere this season as his numbers are actually decent across the board.

Rumors are the Rams are looking at Mike White. Curious what they're gonna do with Mayfield. I'm not a fan of his but I don't see them holding onto 3 QBs unless this is Staffords last year? I guess as a plan D, Mayfield wouldn't be so terrible as a stop gap if he comes cheap enough.

The irony of a Trumper calling someone a sheep. Bahaha. And you are 100% wrong about me and vaxes... But that's completely irrelevant so let's leave politics out of this thread.

In fact, this board would be better off if you'd just stop posting.

On another note, I'm hoping Carr gets released and we can get the cap space to sign him instead of trading multiple firsts for Rodgers.

Give me the younger QB who could be here longer and we don't have to deal with whether he's going to retire after every season.

The 49ers might not be as quick to move on from Jimmy G either (if they have the cap space) now that Brock Purdy is done for the 2023 season with the torn UCL.
I don’t see the 49ers going after a big QB with a multi year offer. I thought Brady was perfect because he likely only had a year left anyway so the 49ers could resume their Trey Lance plan

I also don’t see them going after Carr when they have Lance and Purdy. Regarding Purdy, interestingly, surgery for his UCL tear is stated to be 6 months. Purdy stated throwing for a pitcher is much more violent, which is why I assume the recovery is much longer

    Could TB lure Carr? Possibly…but

I believe the Jets are all in on Rodgers, I believe Rodgers has a strong influence/say where he goes because his cap hit is paralyzing to either team. For instance, if GB says FU to Rodgers, we’re trading you to the Texans, Rodgers simply doesn’t restructure his contract and GB is fvcked.

So, if Rodgers wants to be a Jet. He’ll be a Jet with very reasonable trade compensation back to GB.

I seriously doubt it takes multiple 1st rounders to get Rodgers
There was a rumor the Jets were also interested in Baktierhi, his contract is huge and I don’t know how it fits, but maybe them two ups the ante

Look back at the Brett Farve trade. Fairly similar situation, we traded a conditional draft pick (between a 4th rounder and up to a 1st rounder…ultimately was a 3rd rounder)

Interesting tidbits I came across. Jets had to convince Farve to come over, one of the concerns was Farve had no ties to anyone with the Jets (seems like the Jets did something about that possibly being a concern with Rodgers)

”It was a weird thing," Tannenbaum said. "It was a rare instance where the player had no connection to the organization. That was our biggest challenge.

Another interesting article…AND BRIAN DABOLL WAS OUR QB COACH
When it became apparent Favre was not going to be able to patch things up with the Packers, McCarthy tried to sell Favre on playing for the Jets, a team whose coach he wasn't that familiar with, a source close to the Packers said. Favre indicated to McCarthy that he thought the Jets had more talent than the Buccaneers and started to consider them.

On Sept. 2, the Jets are moving their operation from Hempstead on Long Island to Florham Park, N.J., which is about 30 miles west of Manhattan. The Jets sold Favre on the fact that the new location is in the suburbs and features some rural areas where he can fish and hunt.

The 38-year-old Favre is joining a team where he is older than Mangini (37), offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer (34) and quarterbacks coach Brian Daboll (33).

Earlier this week, the NFL revealed its 2023 salary cap. Teams can now budget for their offseasons, knowing a $224.8MM ceiling is in place. This year’s nonexclusive franchise and transition tag numbers also emerged, giving teams more clarity on those fronts as well. With that in mind, here is where every team stands in terms of cap space:

    Chicago Bears: $90.91MM
    Atlanta Falcons: $56.42MM
    New York Giants: $44.28MM
    Houston Texans: $37.56MM
    Cincinnati Bengals: $35.55MM
    New England Patriots: $32.71MM
    Seattle Seahawks: $31.04MM
    Baltimore Ravens: $26.87MM
    Las Vegas Raiders: $19.78MM
    Arizona Cardinals: $14.47MM
    Kansas City Chiefs: $13.96MM
    Detroit Lions: $13.83MM
    Indianapolis Colts: $12.59MM
    Denver Broncos: $9.07MM
    San Francisco 49ers: $8.28MM
    Washington Commanders: $8.24MM
    Philadelphia Eagles: $4.24MM
    Pittsburgh Steelers: $1.03MM
New York Jets: $1.31MM over the cap
    Dallas Cowboys: $7.18MM over
    Carolina Panthers: $8.94MM over
    Los Angeles Rams: $14.19MM over
    Cleveland Browns: $14.64MM over
    Miami Dolphins: $16.45MM over
    Green Bay Packers: $16.48MM over
    Buffalo Bills: $17.88MM over
    Los Angeles Chargers: $20.38MM over
    Jacksonville Jaguars: $22.35MM over
    Minnesota Vikings: $23.43MM over
    Tennessee Titans: $23.67MM over
    Tampa Bay Buccaneers: $55.03MM over
    New Orleans Saints: $60.47MM over
These figures (courtesy of OverTheCap) will change dramatically in the coming weeks, but this is where each team stands ahead of Super Bowl LVII. After that point, cap-casualty cuts can begin taking place. Restructures, extensions and trades will commence as well,

I have to agree with LVC here. I know people on both sides of the political aisle who feel the same way regarding vaccines. In fairness, both Trump and Biden got vaccinated. I think this is a personal choice.

BUT, LVC, you were the one to bring it up out of nowhere, so I think we all should stay on topic and focus back on the Jets.

I brought up the vax to point out and make fun of the ridiculous statement by @brooklyn67 that he blindly trusts the jets organization when they've been nothing but incompetent since inception. And same goes for the govt. When have they ever done anything that was for the good of the people? No one thought it was odd that they had to bribe people with fast food, lottery money, weed, beer, etc. to get vaxd? Now all these reports coming out about all the actual harm they're causing people and children. And maybe dumb and dumber (brooklyn and clown) should look up operation warp speed, which was under trump before they continue making more stupid comments about trumpers and other shepards.

    Where did I mention Trump?
    Dumb and Dumber?

It beats the hell out of embittered, whiny, sad, stupid, ignorant and trollish

    I agree.
The issue is we have someone who keeps bringing these things into the conversation. Racial slurs are ok by him because he's used to them. Now this.

As far as the actual Jets info? Once in a while, amidst his whining, he makes a legitimate point.

We can hope for more of that and less of the "everything sucks",commentary

Hmmm...I wonder who you could be inferring to here? And based on your previous comments thinking I was a trump supporter. And lol racists comments...using the name of the sports team that has been in existence for almost 90 years until just a year ago or so. Yet all the fans that come to the stadium in old jerseys are racists because they have a depiction of an indigenous indian on them, right? Gimme a break. Even on Clinton Portis's wikipedia page it still says Washington Redskins. And no, I don't vote anything related to the US period. We have enough corruption and bs artists here ourselves to worry about. Why don't you ask some people here on the island how they feel about the US govt.
