I don’t like it but I’m not under a disillusion that it’s going to stop. Obama ran against it about as vigorously as possible and he didn’t stop it. Trump didn’t stop it. Biden’s not going to stop it. And the thing people don’t want to hear is that Bernie wouldn’t have stopped it. He would have been doing the same thing.

Why do progressives like Ro Khanna want the COVID bill to not pass? He wants them to overrule the parliamentarian and thereby lose the votes of Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. And thereby the vote fails 48-52. Purists who are fine with nothing happening so long as they can talk about all the stuff they would love to happen are why people think Democrats can't govern.

Get this COVID relief bill passed and signed into law and then put up a stand alone bill to raise the minimum wage to $15.

It was over removing the $15 dollar mandate from the bill if I do believe. You know and I know if it was a stand-alone bill it wouldn't pass Congress under the regular 60 vote requirement. Special consideration was used to allow the stimulus bill to be pass with a simple majority.

The tactic of sticking a policy that wouldn't pass with something that will pass is an old trick that congress has used to pass horrendous publicly unfavorable policies in the past. For once it uses to help those who need it the most.

Purists? What or who is a Purist in this case? A large percentage of Americans are for hiking up the min. wage. It seems only a few voters, the republicans, and moderates elected officials are against it.

Now you are going to blame the Democrat's reputation as the do-nothing party on the Progressive. Bo, the reason people are gravitating to a socialist-Democrat, gang of four, and progressives is that the moderates who ruled the democrat party for decades did such a crappy job of governing. Joyous news to me. We aren't making progress with the min wage hike so what do they have to lose? Besides if they lose or win, at least they got some gotta damn fight in them. It won't hurt their chances to increase their support and shows that the moderate will find any excuse to not do something that is publicly supported.
