I don't think there was a perfect fit for the team. No matter how qualified people think Hinch/Cora are, they cheated. I'm just glad we didn't go with a random/former player with no experience like Pierzynski. TLR's been involved in baseball since his retirement from managing so I don't think he's out of touch either.

Time will tell how this goes. I really can't see him being worse than Ricky.

I really don’t think Hahn is gonna be that mad about our owner wanting La Russa for a couple/few years. This isn’t like Jerry Krause wanting His boy Floyd over the legend Phil Jackson.

Maybe our owner did handpick Tony La Russa. He more then likely did. At least he handpicked arguably one of the best coaches of all time. And I don’t buy the “game passed him by” narrative. He’s been heavily involved in the game since he retired. He helped usher in a dynasty with the Cards. He helped build the foundation for a Long term winning program. He knows what it takes to win.
