I just put out the options ATL has in house right now. To show what the lineup/rotation/pen could look like with those signings. I could see changes to some of those guys, especially the pen and bench.

So, just want to ask people's thoughts on the bullpen. Let's pretend that the Braves are able to sign Melancon to a new deal (at a lower rate, of course) and offer arb to Luke Jackson and Grant Dayton. However, let's pretend that they need to save a little money and lose Shane Greene and Darren O'Day via free agency. How do you think the bullpen would stack up without Greene and O'Day? Would you still consider it to be one of the top bullpens in MLB?
My assumption is yes, as I think the bullpen is deep enough to withstand losing those two veterans. Hopefully Will Smith is able to be more effective and reliable next year, which certainly would go a long way in filling the void. Some of the younger guys like Sobotka or possibly even Weigel could help fill innings, though not in a late-inning situation.
Yeah our bullpen will be fine if we lose Melancon/Greene and O'Day. We still bring back Smith, Martin, Minter, and Matzek. I expect Jackson will be back and Jacob Webb probably gets a spot. Ynoa had some impressive moments as well and I expect him to have a role in long relief. Dayton probably factors in too but we already have 3 lefties.
I think the better question is who should be the priority between Melancon and Greene. I don't think we can keep both. Melancon will be 36 next year so he'll probably be cheaper. I would lean towards Melancon personally.

wasn't really expecting that
MLBTR predicted Duvalls salary would be either 4.4 or 7.1 million so his non tender is likely strictly money related. I hope we look into bringing him back at a cheaper rate. Good defense and power. Ideal platoon guy but the fact he’s best suited in a platoon is probably another reason he was non tendered.

So, per David O'Brien, Duvall was the only arb-eligible player who was non-tendered by Atlanta. Everyone else was either offered arb (Swanson, Soroka, Fried, Minter) or signed one year, non-guaranteed deals (Camargo, Jackson, Dayton). I expect that they likely are talking to Duvall and seeing if they can get him to agree to a contract with a lesser salary than whatever he was likely to get in arbitration.

Kyle Schwarber and Eddie Rosario were non tendered. If we lose Ozuna we should have plenty of options to DH.

Wow, surprised by the Duvall non-tender. I hope they can bring him back or at least upgrade an outfield spot. Tough to potentially lose his and Ozuna’s bats
What about David Dahl? that guy has some big upside and is really young. I would love if the Braves takes a flyer on him.
He would be interesting and I was a bit surprised that the Rockies non-tendered him, considering that he wasn't scheduled to make that much via arbitration. The Rockies apparently have said that they will not attempt to re-sign him to a contract at a lesser amount either. I am not familiar with his injury history, other than he's apparently recovering from shoulder surgery.
