Totally forgot about him, He actually was a power threat in 2019, being a switch hitter also helps. I think he has the inside track to be part of our bench, he just needs a decent spring.

Not and ideal scenario in the FA for the Braves, Goodwin and Joyce might be the probable choices here.

Having a guy like Encarnacion just for PH duties will hurt us more than it will help us, even though his ISO is still strong, 2020 was a disaster for him and he's already 38, can't bank on him returning to 2019 level.
We're getting pretty close to spring training. I can't imagine the market for Marwin Gonzalez is very robust. I feel like whatever he signs for should at least be something the Braves can afford.

I kind of wanted him as a backup outfielder. I don't know how he rates defensively but it's completely possible that he outperforms Ender with the bat in 2021 and he just went for a minor league deal.

I can’t believe AA is done building this roster. There are too many depth chart holes for him to be done. That said, it feels like options are drying up and ST is getting close.

Damn, he was a good option, but can't blame him, he probably has a decent chance to start games over there.

That's true for every free agent right now, but most of them will always go for the opportunity with the most playing time, Gonzalez might be different though, he already has some money in the bank, might want a playoff run? either way, he's solid but not a the power threat we need, I would love to have him though.

Marwin Gonzalez signing with the Red Sox. 3 million for 1 year. 1 million in incentives.

Some options in the FA market are:

    Matt Joyce
    Nomar Mazara
    Kevin Pillar
    Brian Goodwin
Two days later and only Pillar is still a FA, he might be the best option of them all. He's probably seeking around 5MM though.

So, pretend that AA doesn't add anyone to the bullpen between now and opening day. How confident would you feel with the bullpen as it currently exists?

If we didn't want to pay Duvall that, doubt they wanna pay Pillar that.

Soroka won his arb case, he’ll make 2.8 million.

I wonder if the Braves are waiting for the arb cases to be decided before signing any FA’s.
