Should be an interesting game. The Texans are a bad team who's capable of playing a good game once and awhile. We should be able to pound it down their throats on offense. Need the pass rush to get back on track hit fortunately they don't run it much. Ideally king is able to go.

Packers LT David Bakhtiari (chest) did not travel to Houston. He will miss his first game since 2017 and just the seventh of his eight-year career.

3 straight horrid drives on offense with terrible play calling and all equating to 3 and outs with MVS dropping an easy first down which isnt a shocker... we let the texans right back in the game.

i hate that we cant step on bad teams throats after half when up big

Desperately need to add a Slot receiver to pair with Adams and Lazard, its becoming more and more obvious

not sure, I think it might be a week to week thing because all the way up to Friday they were saying it was going to be a game time decision then all off a sudden friday he was downgraded to out

This was a pretty good game all around for the Packers. The defense looked a lot better and actually tackled well. Pettine seemed to show more blitz than he has in previous weeks and the pass rush was better. Good game plan to limit downfield plays from the Texans.

A few notes from this game. Finally, a few Preston Smith signings will be huge down the stretch to have him be active. I was mostly encouraged by Kamal Martin. He really looked more comfortable in the second half. You saw there was potential, but also room to grow. There were a few plays where he seemed out of the place and the rawness. However, still a little rust and some rookie jitters. He also made some nice plays as well showing some upside as well. The Barnes-Martin has some upside, Martin certainly looked far more reliable than Summers and we will have to wait and see on Kirksey. Jamaal Williams looked functional as a lead back. The OL looked sharp this week even without Bak.

Concerned, MVS is falling back to old habits seemingly disappearing. Hopefully, Lazard can be back soon. It really seems like he can't handle being a #2 guy and only useful in situational deep plays. He's either a big part of the game or disappears. The special teams cleaning up the blocked punt and the onside kick were bad looks.

Overall, they won a game they should have won and they for the most part won it in a manner they should have won it. However, without Bak, Jones, and King this was far from a guaranteed victory. Houston may be in a down season, but they still have some studs which can hurt a team. Nice bounce-back win. They have a chance to win two in a row if they can play their game again next week vs. Minny. With a tough matchup against SF coming up the Minny game is really a must-win if they want to stay near the top in the NFC.

I would agree the defense certainly looked better this week. Hopefully, they can develop some consistency. If the defense can cut down on the missed tackles the team as a whole becomes so much better. Hopefully, Pettine is feeling his seat warming up a little and can get this group to work as a unit. Not saying this is a top tier defense, but if they make their tackles certainly a top 15 unit.

One thing which was promising it seems he stopped putting P. Smith into coverage as much. Amos was looking more like himself as well.

The P Smith in coverage narrative was overblown early. Someone charted it and prior to this week he was dropping into coverage something like 1.5% more than he did last year, so it was pretty much no difference.

But he showed up and that changed the defense. P has been pretty bad this year but this week he flashed and made some good plays. If he continues that, it could be huge.

Monty Adams has had a few splash plays the last few weeks too. He needs be more consistent, but he could be a vital peice too if he can play well. I'm not expecting him to be a stud or anything, but him even being a serviceable player would be awesome.

The Barnes/Martin combo has looked solid. The hard part for me is that I can't tell if they are looking decent, or if our ILB play has been so bad the last decade that them even being below average is great. But either way, they could be huge too. They cant be worse than some of the guys we've trotted out there recently.
