Wouldn't shock me. He's good but he's far from an ace imo.
Rays need to win tonight vs Gonsolin though. Can't be down 0-2 with the Dodgers ace pitching game 3.

If Lowe starts hitting that would be a huge boost to TB

Fox averaged 9.195 million viewers for Game 1 of Dodgers-Rays last night. Lowest audience yet for a World Series game.

Last time a World Series game drew fewer than 10 million viewers was Phillies-Rays Game 3 in 2008 on a Saturday night (9.836 million)

I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.

I did see that the final game of the NLCS had better ratings than every game of the '20 NBA Finals fwiw.

the shocking thing is that was pre covid too with sports on... Right now there is nowhere to go and nothing to watch and the ratings still stink

Id gather mlb was hoping for

An Astros or Yankees vs the dodgers in the world series. Probably would have been very good in terms of ratings.

NBA sucks, so I'm really not surprised.

I'll agree that the NBA sucks but I think it's generally more popular and more watched than MLB.

In any normal year I'd agree. But with the bubble, protests etc in sure a lot of people were turned off.
Even protests/BLM aside, NBA restart looked like a bunch of summer league games in those Disney gyms.
At least NFL and MLB are being played in real stadiums.

Good start for the Rays. Need to tack on a few more.

Why such a decrease in viewership for the NBA?

Mlb definitely has seen a down turn in fan-ship.

It would appear a majority of their fan base seems to be older generations who are dying out. They can't get people excited about a 3 hour game that at times can be boring.

I've never really searched the two in terms of fan #s so not really something I'm up on.
