I think Darnold is really good, he just hasnít been put in any position whatsoever to succeed.

I do believe that the Jets will fire Gase, get the #1 pick and draft Lawrence though.
    Agreed.
Unless an amazing offer comes in, Lawrence is the pick.

Also, if the Jets trade back, there's a very good chance that Chase is off the board, for those thinking he'll be available on a tradeback.

Perriman had a sneaky solid performance today, considering the circumstances. Itís a shame heís been injured so much.

That he did, he got open on 3 deep passes.
2 were overthrown and 1 underthrown, but if Flacco connects in stride, those are TDs.

Yep. Hopefully Sam, Becton, and Mims can all return next week. I canít take much more Flacco, McDermott, and these awful WRs.

I don't think all the WRs are awful. I really like Perriman, Crowder and Berrios. If you add mimms, another downfall threat, those 4 are decent and with a good QB (Sam could still be that guy) they could be a formidable group.

I was as excited as anyone when we drafted Darnold. Like most, I absolutely fell in love with the kid during that Rose Bowl game. I was on the 'suck for Sam' train and was pumped when he fell to us at #3. While I totally agree Sam has not been given a fair shot, and even though I still have hope for him, there is zero doubt in my mind that we MUST draft Lawrence if we wind up with the #1 pick. If for nothing else, it makes football sense. As many of us have mentioned, it will re-start the rookie QB salary clock. I know many want to get that boat load of draft picks for the #1, but what guarantee do we have that we will draft the right players? We already have a nice assortment of draft picks to begin with, so why not take one of the top five rated QB prospects going back to the 1983 draft? It would make zero sense to me for us to pass on Lawrence, despite my desire for Darnold to develop into our franchise QB.

    Gase Era - Week 23

The mornings are long, Sunday afternoons even longer. I look ahead for a brighter future but there's a cloud of misfortune that hangs in the air that snuffs any light that attempts to pass. The time here seems to slow with each passing day and I begin to wonder will this era ever end? All hope is not lost though as I hear we may be receiving reinforcements soon with the arrival of Sir Mims & Lord Becton, but truthfully as long as General Gase is here commanding the army I fear nothing will change. In truth sometimes I find myself wondering what made me join the cause... Rumors are that the general is discharging all those who speak out against him and I've seen first hand my brothers depart, but I fear he would make an exception for me, such is my luck... I'm nearly recovered from my wounds and I'll soon be out on the battle field again, but my fate remains uncertain for as commander here they see me as just another rotting head of the same beast. I must go on and prove my worth! Until next time.

Of Gase's 40 losses as a HC, 31 have been by double digits. He doesn't coach competitive football.

Everything u said is spot on. Plus, we can likely trade Darnold for a high 2nd round pick, then we'd have 2 firsts, 2 seconds, and 2 thirds next draft, plus extra picks the following year.

Hell, if we really wanted to, we could likely package Darnold with the SEA first we have this year, plus future picks to move back up and draft WR Ja'marr Chase too. Imagine ending up with Lawrence and Chase, to go along with Mims and a solid free agent at WR. There are some good options available. Draft more OL and defense with more smart free agent signings and we could be competitive again in a year or two easily with a new HC.

All I know is as of now, it would seem it'd be crazy to pass on Lawrence. His upside and prospect status is much higher than Darnold's ever was, and you pretty much need an elite QB to win a SB. Even if you had the 10th best QB, it's likely to not be enough.

A Gase firing is deserving of an epic exit

Maybe a police escort out of the stadium in the middle of an offensive drive...better be quick, those offensive drivers are only 3 plays

Or I forget which QB it was, maybe Brees or Manning when they set some ridiculous record, there was a 10 minute delay with a tribute

A 10 minute delay with a video tribute from past player and current players telling Gase to go fvck himself and then heís escorted off the field
