If both McGee/Bradley decide to opt out and the team doesnt bring them back, more or less you get an extra $9M on top of your MLE ($9.3m) and BAE ($3.6m)
McGee just sold his home. So who knows.

Either... Pelinka is looking to swing a big trade this offseason or...

As per Eric Pincus: "Taking off Deng could help the Lakers pay to keep KCP and Rondo, while allowing them to use their larger mid-level exception."

Eric Pincus: If a player has a career ending injury, but then try to return. Of course, they’d pass a physical if they’re signing with a new team. The test is, did they get to 25 games played. The answer for Deng is no. Will the Lakers succeed? I don’t know what their medical evidence says – via Twitter EricPincus

The 2nd one. Even without Dengs $5 million off the books we're still over the salary cap. This wouldn't give us an extra $5 million to spend in free agency. It just saves the suits money.

Gives us $5 million more breathing room from reaching the LT.

The league is not very laker friendly or Pelinka friendly so highly unlikely they approve it.

It is what it is. Lakers FO most scrutinized from the time Magic gave his dumbass wink to Wayoff P on Kimmel.

How can they approve it if the Lakers are trying to say he suffered a career ending injury while playing for the Lakers. He played 22 games the next season for the T-Wolves lol....

I agree that there is an anti-Lakers sentiment in the league and we will be very closely watched but this one really has no legs to stand on.
