The Yankees did not exercise J.A. Happ's $17 million option for 2021, per source. He is now a free agent.

Marlins declined the $4M option on closer Brandon Kintzler, paying the 250K buyout instead.

There are plenty of options on the fa market for bullpen help but I rather they spend money on starting pitching abs trade for bullpen help

The Lindor trade package is gonna make the Stanton trade package look like the Archer trade package, huh.

Rumor going around that Cleveland is going to be looking to slash payroll as much as possible and the asking price for him is way down. This news started going around after the flat release a top 3 AL reliever like Hand when he was only scheduled to make 10m next yr. According to Rosenthall they will be looking for cheap, young bats.

If he's really going to be that cheap if they like a couple of our players IMO its hard not to make that deal.

Tyler Wade for Lindor. Who hangs up?

If this is a sign of things to come, the Yankees really need to flex the financial muscle and go all in for the next two years with this core and then reset in 2022. Of course, if that happened, there would be those here during the 2023 season complaining that "the Yankees haven't won a championship in 8 months" and "We only have three championships in the last 20 years, Cashman should be fired."

Interesting. Would the possible scenario involve not resigning DJ? Bring in Lindor? Move Torres back to 2B?

Imo a lot of teams are hurting looking to slash payroll.

Opportunity knocking. Andujar, Tauchman, Ford, Frazier in the mix?

heard privately the Yanks thinking would be to trade Voit, Andujar plus a pitching spec. Move DJ to 1st, Torres back to 2nd. Just what i was told, absolutely nothing solid to my knowledge on packages. Cleveland wants controllable, cheap MLB ready impact type bats

Morton won a ring in 2017, and followed it up by going 15-3 with a 3.13 ERA in 2018. After signing a two-year, $30 million deal with Tampa Bay prior to the 2019 season, Morton had the best year of his career, finishing third in the AL Cy Young voting after going 16-6 with a 3.05 ERA.

In the postseason, Morton is 7-3 with a 3.38 ERA.

He'll be 37 in Nov., he can still pitch. His age is a concern. Bauer, Stroman, Tanaka, Minor, Ray, Odorizzi, Quintana and Paxton also need to considered. Morton may provide the most bang for the buck, but age is a concern imo.
