That means you won't have to post. Correct? Sounds like a plan to me.

I thought you wanted to dump DJ? And a big fat NO to Betances.

I don’t really expect many offseason moves, but I just wonder when the Yankees are going to realize how critical starting pitching is in the playoffs. Imagine this series with no Cole. Imagine this series with a real #2 and 3 rather than tired Tanaka and senior citizen Happ. It seems we are so focused on developing (and failing to develop) cheap starting pitching that we have missed many opportunities to use our biggest asset (cash) to upgrade it in the offseason (with the exception of Cole) or trade assets that never become significant pieces for us. Think back. Scherzer, Sale, Cole (from Pitt), Wheeler, Clevinger, Bauer, Corbin, Morton, Glasnow, Giolatta.

We throw a Brinks truck at 1 guy every 10 years who we think is the perfect fit and let it ride. I wanna see a 2 and 3 behind Cole that make opposing teams pause for a sec.

Preaching to the choir. Some of us have been making the argument for several seasons.

However I do believe having Sevy, German, Pax and Kahnle would have made a difference, particularly game 2. At the very least it would have averted the game two debacle. Sevy is a solid #2 and German? needs time to prove and cement his slot. Healthy Paxton?

No question and not disputing Tampa had superior pitching. They did and it showed.

    1- Fire Boone
2- Fire Cashman. (I know neither 1 or 2 will happen so )

    1- Keep DJ
2- Find a taker for Stanton and convince him to GTFO.
3- Tell Cole to STFU and get over his personal BS with Bauer and sign Bauer.
4-Trade Schmidt, Andjuar, Voit and a couple mid level for Lindor and extend him
5-Trade Sanchez, King, Acevedo, Ford and filler for Hader.

George likes his lineup long and his pen deep!

    These are very good ideas.

I had forgotten to add number four to my list as those are just waste spots on the roster.

Imo, even one of the three starters makes a difference, all three?
In Jorge’s defense, the Yankees have lost from 2017-2019 with most of those guys because they still had the structural deficiencies at SP, approach in pressure games, and in talent negotiations.

They’ve lost now four seasons in a row with some variation of this core.

Minor tweaking and hoping on Severino isn’t going to get the job done.

    It’s time for a change.

I was referring specifically to this series, game 2 in particular. Rather than throwing Garcia to the wolves and hoping, I would have felt a bit more confident in any of the aforementioned three. Not complaining or making excuses, injuries, suspensions are part of the game. You play the hand you are dealt.

They could have gone the first 4 games without using Garcia or Schmidt . Tanaka should have gone game 2 , Monty game 3 and then if necessary an opener for game 4 . On the other hand cashman didn’t want to trade Garcia or Schmidt at the dead line and decided to stick with what he had . So if that’s the case then Garcia should have gotten a start in the alds . I Remember , petitte started a game against Seattle in the 1995 alds , his rookie season and he went 7 innings . Buck and stick micheal had no problem throwing pettitte to the wolves back then . Cashman should have put his money where is mouth was and gone with Garcia in either game 3 or 4 for the start

we don't even know what sevy will be following surgery so let's put off making him a number 2# for the time being...the best would be to sign bauer but the yanks are not spending that much on another ace. we will have to live with what we have with a lil tinkering probably won't be enough to get it done but all hal cares is being competitive and making money so that will be good enough for him..

it's looking like the yanks won't be winning a championship in a very long time with the current philosophy of cashman ...
