Say it any way you want but an era of over 4 for a starter is not very good at all . Era is over 9 innings so every 9 innings a starter goes they give up atleast 4 runs . That is not that good . And unless tailon starts less than 27 games this year , 132 innings translates to less than 5 innings a start . Again not very good either . I am not saying all those numbers are wrong either . I actually agree with them . Especially the projections from tailon and kluber . I am just trying to understand how the yanks can have the best war in baseball when 3 teams are gonna have better team starting eras than the Yankees .

That's a GUESS on your part. You have no clue what any teams ERA will be. Projections are projections and nothing more.

Unanticipated and not part of original hypothesis, but has proven to be the most valuable insight gleaned from the work.

Aaron Boone said that he isn't planning on Kyle Higashioka being Gerrit Cole's personal catcher ... at least, not right now.

Boone said that he sees @clintfrazier as the #Yankees' starting left fielder.

    "Clint has earned his place."

He did think a righty batter pulled the ball to RF, so maybe he thinks goalposts are lineup up perfectly and touching as opposed to being on the opposite ends of the field.

Kinda surprising, we signed Derek Dietrich to a MILB deal. He's a solid UTL guy that has some serious pop from the left side. He should be a solid addition to the bench

    He provides basically zero value.

Hit .187 and .197 in the previous two seasons.

Strikes out at over a 25% clip.

His defense is subpar at best.

I'll take wade over him 10x out of 10. Prefer defense replacement on bench.

I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.

But his HR and Walk rate are also up!!!
I believe the term used is a "3 Outcome Skill Set".
I don't get this one at a all.

I fully agree. You have Wade as a UTL and at least he can bunt and run.

Even though that's true, here's Chirinos's numbers catching Cole.

Chirinos, 36, caught Cole when the two were in Houston in 2019. In 68 ²/₃ innings with Chirinos as his catcher, Cole pitched to a 1.57 ERA with 114 strikeouts and 11 walks.

The Yankees have interest in bringing back Brett Gardner, but at their price it seems. And that is likely around $3M, which could enable them to stay under the $210M threshold. Gardy prefers to return but would have outside interest if he feels forced to look.

Well, it was saud earlier that he wad looking for about 8mill; since the Yanks already paid him a 5mill buy out that means we only need to pony up 3mill more, right?

Breaking: Trevor Rosenthal to A’s. $11M, 1 year.

I know a few here, including Day, were high on him.
