Bauer was just money. Way to go Hal! Damn cheapskate!
Do you genuinely want Bauer or you just like to moan? Whoever gets him looks likely to have a horrendous over pay? Trouble all over. Our business been very good so far. I just hope I can get over by end of season to catch a game.

Lindor's K% is much less than Judge's, yet they have a similar career average. Gardner has had some low K% years lately and also had low averages. Hicks had a low K% last year and hit .225 on the season. Point is, just because you make contact doesn't mean it is good contact. I'm not saying there aren't any contact guys left, I'm saying there aren't many and they are declining. You bring up Springer and that is my point, a guy like that who consistently drives the ball is not easily attainable and that is why he got big money.
I would love them to move him but he was so bad, they can't. He also plays a premium position. If he can get it together he's more valuable than Judge or Stanton. I think right now, Judge, Torres and Voit are the most tradable pieces with the highest return
At least I think they are.

Tanaka went home for $7.75MM.....team would have been better with him.
We’re pointing out that these statistics breed false narratives, and we value the truth. This isn’t about replacing old numbers with new numbers, or attempting to dissuade anyone from enjoying the aesthetics of the game. It is simply about telling the average fan about the reality of what actually happened on the field. The “Holy Trinity” of baseball statistics fail at this most basic task, and so they are not worth deifying any longer. - Dave Cameron

Buffalo Blue Jays just traded for Matz from the Muts.

Some rotation help for a division rival.

They must be very confident they will sign Bauer.

Tanaka signs with Rakuten Golden Eagles

Yankees messed this one up for 2021 IMO.

Tanaka would have been more reliable than Kluber IMO.

Money and length of a contract is why Hal went with Kluber instead of giving Tanaka $15 million per for 3/4 years.

It feels like stop gap starters and if we win we win and if we lose then we pick out a new number from the hat.

Bauer will talk so much smack.

If the Mets do land him, I wonder if they trade a pitcher?
I posted it because it came for a very reliable source and that reliable source pulled back hours later. It seemed like he wanted to call the story first. And his alert popped up on my phone as I would have never posted it without the alert.

Bauer seems to just want to beat Cole for the highest average for 2021. Now the Dodgers seem interested.

Can anyone verify / confirm that number? I am unable to find it any where.

Well...if the number reported above, $7.5M is accurate Yankees made a mistake not exploring further. Tanaka on a short term deal at that number is a no brainer imo.

I would be surprised if he eclipses $25-28M. He needs the Giants, Dodgers, Angels, SD, Mets, Cubs and the Yankees involved.

    Mets did move Matz.

Masahiro Tanaka is going back to Japan on a one-year, $7.7 million contract

Reports are that he wanted $15 million per year to stay with the Yankees and even more from other MLB teams

Long term is correct with your number.

But he might take. 1/37 just beat Cole for one year. And the Mets will pay that. Hell, the Yankees could pay that.

Thanks. Are any major media outlets carrying it yet?
