This makes a lot of sense especially if you can get him for one year. I dont think the Yankees would sign Didi unless they lost out on DJ though. Then you can make a push for one of the star SS next offseason.

I don't think it's 2 steps back. Didi is a far better SS than Torres, so it allows Torres to go back to second.
Defensively I think the IF could be better. Offensively, you are unquestionably correct.

Didi's glove is better than Torres, but he has lost a step laterally over the last few years. He does bring a lefty bat, but knowing the Yankees they would use him to bat third and kill some rallies.

I also doubt Didi would view a 1 year deal as an absolute last resort.

With all that being said, given where we stand right now, I'd love to see Didi at SS and DJ at 1B. I really think its a good time to sell high on Voit.

As good as voit has been for the Yankees , how would you convince a team to trade a really good player for a 1b who has had foot issues severe enough to require missing playing time over the last two seasons?

It has to be said. Frazier has potential to be something, but he's overrated based on a 60 game season in which he wasn't even on the roster for part of it. He finally showed some maturity and had some success. He played good defense, but that was mostly in RF while Judge was hurt. He could revert back to being defensively challenged in LF at any moment and those who think he could play CF effectively are smoking crack. Yes, I wouldn't give him away for free, but he would be a sell high candidate and could be overrated by the trading partner.

great points, i completely agree. I like the kids fire in competition but if him as the center piece could bring us back a Castillio or someone of that quality i'd sell as high on him as possible

Asking around about SP asking prices, I’ve heard Corey Kluber is at $6M-$8M (plus incentives), James Paxton is around $12M and Tanaka’s is about $15M. Continue to hear the Yankees won’t go past the luxury tax so we’ll see how they address the rotation

Woof thats alot for Paxton. Kluber is looking more and more like that best option we realistically have if they resign DJ.

Paxton is not worth 12 mill, he is worth the same as kluber . I mean he is more injury prone than kluber is . I rather they trade for a starter and sign kluber , over bringing back dj
