Btw The Only reason hal opened the check books in the 08 off season is because George was still alive and they were opening a new stadium . So hal and George wanted nothing more than to christen the new stadium with a ws championship . Besides I was talking about what Hal cares about over the last 10 years and it wasn’t about winning a ws . And right now he doesn’t even care about making the playoffs

Let DJ and Tanaka walk and do a mini reboot. Without spending, this team will not be a serious WS contender. Sell some assets. Build the farm. Get younger. Lower payroll. Build around Torres and Frazier. Let the kids play. This run is over. Been saying it all offseason.

Start spending again next offseason when Lindor is available.

Use those handles and they will update you on any stock that comes in. I got lucky about a month ago and ran into like a 7am sale on Best buy's website.

The system is great but not a ton of games for it yet. I've been playing Demon Souls and some NBA 2K21.

I am looking forward to Elden Ring. I have the typical and wonderful, love hate relationship with Souls style games

I'm waiting out the new systems. No reason to get them when there are no games and they are in such short supply.

But I am very excited to get them. Yes them. I will get both. I was going to just get the PS5 until I learned that Bethesda was in bed with Microsoft and I need my Fallout and Skyrim titles at their top form

I agree that this run is over. Time to move on and cash in the chips that they can for the future.

Sadly, I think this year is less about the desire to win.. and more about availability... Because once you get past Bauer, what's available on the pitching market does not really look any better than what we already have on our roster (except what we have on the roster is young with higher ceilings.. what's on the UFA/Trade market have already set their ceilings.)

This is not a video game... just because you want an Ace pitcher, does not mean you have the option to get one... because frankly... Bauer is the only one available.. and at the current price I've heard, he's WAY over priced at the moment... everyone else that I've heard IS AVAILABLE.. are at best #4 level starters... I know there are rumors... but just from reading this you should know that just because someone creates a rumor of a deal.. does not mean that the players involved are actually available... often, it just someones dream deal.

Yasiel Puig is drawing interest from multiple teams, per sources. Red Sox, Yankees, Astros, Marlins and Orioles appear to have varying levels of interest.

    Huh?

Luis Gil, a #Yankees pitching prospect highly regarded because of his high-90s fastball, turned heads w/ an improved slider and strong work ethic at the alternate site.

Castillo and Hendricks are also available . And so were darvish and snell until recently . Kluber is unsigned and he would probably be an upgrade over anyone behind cole. Heck even gray would be an upgrade for the rotation as it is . Heck they haven’t even made an offer to Tanaka yet . So by not wanting to do anything at all about the rotation is just an obvious showing of not caring about winning a ws

thats gotta be BS. He makes absolute zero sense with the current roster construction unless they are planning on trading a current OFer. They need a 4th/5th ofer but not Puig. I'd rather have Gardy back than Puig. There are so many better FA options that can be had cheaply

Thats very exciting, the only thing he has been really missing was a solid 3rd pitch. His FB and CU are plus to plus- plus. He was one of the guys that it was most disappointing that he lost all last yr. If the recent reports about he and Medina are accurate they both would pass Garcia and Schmidt as our best pitching specs. Gil comps very closely to Castillio if he hits his ceiling.

I absolute can't wait to see how these guys look in ST. While its unlikely either impact the MLB team early in the yr but by the end of the yr both could play huge roles either out of the BP or rotation

Maybe the Yanks have seen these guys and some of out other top pitching specs develop alot at the ALT site and they maybe far more ready to contribute than were expecting? All our best pitching talent was in Aball in 19. A jump for A ball to the MLB in less than 2yrs isn't unrealistic for guys with top stuff. I'm being extremely optimistic admittedly, but I'm just searching for a possibility why they have done nothing on the pitching market yet.

We could have one hell of a rotation soon with Cole, Medina, Sevy and Gil... we can all dream and its not like were not due to develop a couple good starters

Imo, Sevy and German collectively > any available arm. I also think they resign Tanaka to a team friendly deal.

Day I completely agree on Puig. The "Huh?" was my comment not Feinsand. I agree, imo, Gardy is a better glove even at his age.

I appreciate your Gil endorsement. I felt similarly, hearing f it from you confirms my initial reaction.

Only reason I can think of for the yanks to show any interest in puig is because they might be working on trading Frazier .

I love him. But Frazier is worthless on the trade market unless you trade him for prospects to a team that is win now. He's ARB 1.

I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.
