We lost a great opportunity there to solidify our pen at a reasonable price. If the Reds are so desperate to cut costs, it looks like they are in rebuilding mode. We should press them on Castillo.

That is what I was thinking too but they will trade Gray before Castillo.

Urshela was supposed to get bone chip surgery on Oct 29th, but couldn't because he got COVID. It delayed him until recently.

Some interesting Yankees notes from Passan on
    @TMKSESPN

-thinks DJ ultimately lands with the Yankees
-wonders if Yanks will eventually look to move Gleyber Torres if they re-sign DJ due to his shortcomings at SS
-seemed iffy on Tanaka re-signing, whether DJ returns or not

I mean Torres is freaking 23 years old.

He lost development time at the position when put at 2b.

Also, in 2017 he lost time with Tommy john surgery.

So, I'm willing to give him some time.

I think it's a wreckless line of thinking that he may be moved.

I don't think he's a bust. I think he just needs the right motivation to pick himself up & play harder.

I agree. I have been imploring patience with Torres from the outset. He's a hard worker and very young, patience required.

It would be bat-shite crazy to move him, unless you were getting a TORP or did a 1 for 1 with Lindor in return.
But in a season where you are crying poor and you move a 23 year old with absurd upside? It's a bad look

Yet another reason to boo cashman.

To be clear they were Passan's OPINION as reported by Dan Federico on twitter. As we all know, opinions are akin to another part of our anatomy, we all have one. Nothing came from source inside Yankees FO or Cashman.

I know I've seen James McCann mentioned here a few times.
Chew on this. Last year in 111 plate appearances he struck out 30 times and in 2019, in 476 plate appearances, he struck out 137 times

Then again, he would fit right in.

I think it would still be crazy to trade Torres for Lindor straight up. The Red Sox didn’t get anything near the caliber as Torres for Betts. Now, would the Indians entertain Lindor and Bieber for Torres, Garcia and Peraza?
