Devil's just got D Ryan Murray from Columbus for a 5th. I mean Murray is injured frequently but a 5th seems weak. Obviously Columbus is clearing out space to take a run at a big fish tomorrow.

Anyway, there's rumors that the Leafs won't be signing any FA dmen and will instead focus on the trade route. One rumor is them talking to the Panthers about MacKenzie Weegar.

Leafs sign T.J. Brodie 4 years, 20 million, 5 million AAV.

Brodie is solid. Left shot but plays the right side better. Solid partner for Rielly. Wayne Simmonds and Brodie. Not a bad day at the office.

I like it, seems like the perfect partner for Reilly.

Looks like some trades are coming to eliviate some cap space. Would still like to see them get Weegar to add more bite to the back end. I still think the 3rd line needs an overhaul too.

I think they will move Johnsson for futures at some point. I'd like Weegar as well. Watched him quite a bit back when he played for the Mooseheads.

It's an upgrade. Ideally getting another top 4 right shot and moving Holl would be perfect, but probably won't happen this year. More big minutes in the AHL for Sandin and Liljegren isn't a bad thing. Then there's Dermott and Lehtonen. Dermott could find himself traded in this scenario too. Interesting stuff to watch.

Former one year Leaf Tyson Errorie to Edmonton. 1 year @ 3.75 million. That'll be be a better spot for him all jokes aside. He needs to QB PP1 and he'll get the chance now.

He's not a bad player just not a fit here. Rielly needs to quarterback the first PP unit but he brings more than Barrie. Barrie is sub par defensively. So if he's not getting a prime opportunity to produce points he's an issue. With Klefbom out he'll get a way better role suited for him in Edmonton.
