    Arrieta
    Williams
    Alzolay

If they go this route, what do you think they do with Mills? He is out of options. Bullpen? DFA him?
I think the rotation will be Hendricks / Davies / Arrieta / Williams / Alzolay

Mills will start as the swing man IMO but he will get a good number of starts as well. They will take it easy with Alzolay and I would expect a 6 man rotation from time to time as well.

I must say, I'm a big proponent of the universal DH but have to admit I am looking forward to watching Arrieta hit.

Felt inevitable to me that Jake was coming back home to Chicago.

Glad to see it, even if he is a shell of his former dominant shelf

Agreed. Really interested to see what Walker, Odorizzi and Paxton get after deals like this and Archer's. I'm guessing the first two get multiyear deals still and Paxton ends up between $11-$13 million.

It would have been nice to have gone with Quintana at $8 million but perhaps that was before the alleged budget increase.

Edit: Also worth pointing out that while that may be the total amount, I'm sure we will see some deferred or included as an option buy-out, lowering the PV of the deal.

I like Arrieta so it's cool to see him back.

As for the rotation, I'd go four with The Kyles followed by Arrieta/Wiliams and then the fifth day use Adbert/Mills combo as part of a "bullpen day." Everybody knows I am a believer in Adbert and I still believe he can be a very good #3 for the Cubs in 2021 and beyond but I agree that he needs innings limit this year. So him and Mills piggybacking on the fifth day, to me, make sense.
    Screw sabermetics.

As for the 13 man pitching staff as of now I see:

    Hendricks
    Davies
    Arrieta
    Williams
    Alzolay
    Mills
    Kimbrel
    Adam
    Wick
    Chafin
    Winkler

I see these 11 with the final 2 spots open . One of those will go to a lefty .
