And we have seen how well Ohtani has handled the dual role..... can’t stay on the field.
Hopefully Marco Paddy can get thru all the hype and make a proper analysis.

Now had we drafted Seth Beer, we would not need Colas to wash down our Burger and Fry.
If the team is to make one final move and that move is not Bauer what one final move would you like that to be?
For me it would be one more guy in the pen.
My Ignore List: bklynny67, nastynice, OhSoSlick, spliff(TONE), zmaster52
I want an impact starter.
So we have more room for error with our pitching staff.
I love Cease and Kopech's potential and one or both could be a top 3 starter.
But it's still a ?
Bullpen would be number 2
I don't care if they get a dh honestly I'd rather Vaughan get the shot

Also if we aren't in on Bauer, and aren't really spending much anymore, I'd give Kluber a 1 year deal. If he's healthy you win. If he isn't it doesn't really kill us, since we weren't going to sign anyone big there anyways in this scenario.
I’d go with a starter. Either Kluber as a risk/ reward candidate, or a safer innings eater type like Quintana.
I think the BP is pretty solid, between Collins, Mercedes and Zavala, we can probably cover for a Grandal issue until he either comes back or we trade for someone. Let Mercedes and Vaughn battle for DH at bats. There may even be times where Eloy may DH a game here and there and Leury Garcia can get some play.
I get the need for a DH and a backup catcher, but it just seems to me that those items will be much more available at the deadline if we need them than pitching will be. It always seems like at the deadline, pitching is at a premium and everyone has to overpay for marginal pitchers.
I don’t want another James Shields at this year’s deadline.
If we sign a decent pitcher now, and 2 of Lopez, Cease, and Kopech pan out, then we can always move the extra piece at the deadline and maybe get a diamond in the rough prospect back.
If we do not go big for Bauer, I am hoping that the reason is to maintain some financial flexibility to make the needed impactful moves at the deadline.
For me I'd rather give guys like Grandal, Abreu, Jimenez, Moncada, and even Anderson a day off from the field and let them DH as opposed to having a set guy.
Correct me if I am wrong but our last true productive DH was Thome. So I'd rather have a committee or a bonifide DH stud than a guy like Edwin Encarnacion

Is Frank Thomas still taking Nugenix? Maybe he can come out of retirement and DH. They never say what it does but I hear he feels great.

In all seriousness, the obvious answer is probably Molina. Checks a lot of boxes for me. Catcher, DH and won’t take a ton of games away from Vaughn when the time comes.
