I love our offseason so far, I don’t feel like we’ve over paid for anyone.

I also love how many bodies they’re bringing in, people are gonna have to prove they’re on their A game for those 20th through 25th roster spots.

We are gonna be deeper than ever, and we still have a lineup mostly made up of guys who came up as Mets.

    Couldn’t be more stoked.

I’m also glad they’re not spending as much as the other guys. I’d way rather be a perceived “underdog”, than the team who “should” win it all

As far as depth is solid, but meh.

The only reason to like the Pillar deal is that he mashes lefties. I think he's posted like an .850+ OPS against lefties the last 2 years.

Not surprised. Paxton's velocity was down big time last year. Almost 3 mph on his average fastball.

Or perhaps his issues with losing velocity and constantly being hurt

Think the expectation is a straight platoon in CF with Nimmo and Almora starts in AAA? Not a bad plan.

We still need to add Walker or Odorizzi, plus a RP - Rosenthal or Greene.

Once the Kevin Pillar signing is official, the Mets will have completed nine big-league deals in free agency:

    1. Marcus Stroman
    2. Sam McWilliams
    3. Trevor May
    4. James McCann
    5. José Martínez
    6. Aaron Loup
    7. Albert Almora
    8. Jonathan Villar
    9. Kevin Pillar

Al Kaline told James McCann that it will take 1500 minor league at-bats to find out who he is, then another 1500 at-bats in the major leagues to do the same.

I agree that they’ll at least do this. I prefer Walker and Rosenthal but Rosenthal, like Hand and others, probably wants assurances that he’ll close. We shouldn’t do that
