So Mets and Hand went from done this morning to somehow no closer than yesterday by this afternoon?

I think with the additions of Lindor and Carrasco, we won't be signing Springer or Bauer.

    Great offseason nonetheless.
    Agreed.

Sign a back end SP such as Paxton or Walker
Bring back Justin Wilson. We need two capable leftys.
    Extend Lindor
    Extend Conforto

    Incredible offseason!
If the Mets pivot from Springer, I would rather go with Ozuna than JBJ. Ozuna can give you average defense in Left and he is a much bigger force offensively.

JBJ is left handed and Ozuna is a righty.

I can't get over that if we finish the deal for Hand, in our bullpen we'll have Seth Lugo, Trevor May, Dellin Betances, Brad Hand, Edwin Diaz... Familia is our 6th best RP? That's an amazing bullpen.

    Except that Betances sucks.

Are u basing that on his 11 innings in 2020? That doesn't seem fair.

It was because Rosenthal jumped the gun

Better offense for sure but I thought the plan was to not have Nimmo play CF

He no longer has a fast ball.

    Whose plan?

The plan was to get a right handed bat in the lineup.

Sure but that means he was way off base, so what gave him any sense that he should state what he stated?

My guess is a reputable "trusted" source said it with enough conviction that Rosenthal decided to go with it, without getting a second source or team confirmation. A rare misstep by an otherwise excellent reporter.

I'll be surprised if we ultimately don't get Hand.

With arbitration out of the way I bet we get Brand Hand within 48 hours.

Looks like the Mets didn't sign any of the top 30 International Free Agents. That's a surprise based on the emphasis on the farm system. Did the Mets not have any IFA money left?

Today you’ll see MLB teams sign international amateurs to multi-million dollar deals, and the #Mets won’t be among them.

Reminder: This has nothing to do with Cohen/Alderson/Porter. These deals were agreed to close to a year (or more) ago.
