Well that sucks. I was pretty pessimistic we’d land Springer after trading for Lindor honestly. We’re not getting Bauer either. At this point just stick with Nimmo in CF. Maybe we can sign Profar to play LF? I’m not interested in JBJ whatsoever.

I know they want left available to get smith into the lineup but nimmo in center is brutal. He needs a defensive caddy at minimum.

I guess it all depends on what we are looking for in CF. Do we want a caddie or somebody who can play the position regularly, moving Nimmo to LF. If not a caddie, then the options are few and maybe JBJ could be the solution, depending on what he costs. MLB rumor had him at 2 years $16M, but they have been mostly low on their projections. JBJ surprisingly is still only 30 y/o. If the Mets decide to go with him, I would definitely go more than 2 years. We could also take a chance on Keven Kiermaier, swapping him for some salary relief like moving Familia. KK I believe has two years and an option for $26M. This could be a risk/reward move, hoping that he stays healthy and reaches the potential he showed when he first came up. Such a move would only add a little more than $1M to the payroll.

Or...where do we go now, Arenado? JD Davis, Familia, + Vientos??

Yeah I mean the logic here is that Profar projects to be an good LF defender full-time which mitigates the concern with Nimmo in CF. I love Dom, but he’s not a full-time LF on a championship ball-club.
