Stay with Heredia as Nimmo's caddy instead. But I think we need a stronger performer such as a healthy Marisnick would have been in the very very short 2020 season for him. For analysis, compare Marisnick's 2018 and 2019 performance to the others.
You can probably get Marisnick. 2 years $7M ($3.5M per year would be just a bit more than the $3.2M he would have made last year if a full season was played).
Almora is one of those top prospects that just never stuck. He started for the Cubs in 2017-2019 playing decent defense but just has no offensive ability at all. He's basically an automatic out. Would be a decent depth move that can play in Syracuse, but definitely won't be anything more than that. Mallex Smith is better.

Heyman, "Mets are heavily involved with Hand."
Let's give Hand the Job!
"You don't know how to drink. Your whole generation, you drink for the wrong reasons. My generation, we drink because it's good, because it feels better than unbuttoning your collar, because we deserve it. We drink because it's what men do."

Heyman also notes that the Mets have talked to Justin Wilson about coming back, but he's a secondary option to Brad Hand.

Good depth piece.

Mets signed Jose Martinez. If he can find what he was in 2017 and 2018, he will be a good bench bat.
That’s a nice beach bat have.
Very good bench bat to have. Although he's a really bad OF and we are already jam packed in 1B so if he gets extended time in 1B.... that's a really bad sign. And if he plays OF a decent amount, that's also a bad sign.
Also I don't get why we don't try to sign both Wilson and Hand... Wilson is still a very reliable and good pen arm. He was our second best arm last year off the pen and potentially first best because he handled high pressure situations well when Diaz didn't
I'd be surprised if, barring injuries, Martinez and JD are on the roster at the same time. This may be a prelude to moving Davis.
I prefer Hand to Wilson. I'm okay with both but someone under contract would have to be moved to make room. Plus we're likely to add another starter.
I just don't get why we are giving up on Wilson so quickly when he was our most reliable reliever the past two years. Or one of our most reliable.
Also I can see that although JD does offer more flexibility as he can play OF, 3B, and 1B.... although none of them particularly well. But also wouldn't be surprised if Davis is traded as he's a Brodie guy
