    PSD's 2020 MLB award predictions

Since we're down to a mere 5 days left in this strange 2020 season, I figured now is as good of a time as any to discuss who everyone thinks is most deserving of winning the major awards.

Who do you think deserves to win MVP, Cy Young, and ROY for each league?

AL MVP: Jose Ramirez, runner up Shane Bieber
NL MVP: Freddie Freeman, runner up Fernando Tatis Jr.

    AL Cy Young:
Shane Bieber, runner up Gerrit Cole
NL Cy Young: Yu Darvish, runner up Jacob DeGrom

AL ROY: Kyle Lewis, runner up Willi Castro
NL ROY: Devin Williams, runner up Jake Cronenworth

AL MVP and NL Cy Young are what I'd call the most interesting races among these as of right now.

Abreu leads Ramirez in just about all categories, except fWar and only trails by .4.

Yeah, I looked at most all relevant numbers and think Ramirez is currently more deserving. If this was purely about offense, I'd take Abreu....but it's not.

Having said that, I'd have no real issue with Abreu winning the award.

    AL MVP: Jose Abreu
Jose Ramirez, Luke Voit, Mike Trout also strong candidates.

    NL MVP: Mookie Betts
Fernando Tatis Jr is the only other name that pops into my head as having a really really good year. I'm sure there are several others.

AL Cy Young: Shane Beiber should win easily.

    NL Cy Young: Trevor Bauer
    Jacob deGrom a close 2nd.

Appreciate the Devin Williams love in the NL ROY. I don't think he actually wins but he was absolutely absurd. Giving it to a non-closer reliever is unlikely, but hes deserving.

Tbh I had barely even heard of him and never seen him pitch but his numbers are eye popping (and to me more impressive than the other NL rookies).

Updated list (winner listed first, no ties here):

AL MVP: Shane Bieber / Ramirez
NL MVP: Freddie Freeman / Betts

    AL Cy Young:
    Shane Bieber
NL Cy Young: Yu Darvish / Bauer & DeGrom

AL ROY: Kyle Lewis / Robert
NL ROY: Devin Williams / Gonsolin

I'd chime in on manager of the year but really don't give a damn about that award and don't feel like the general public can do a good job of comparing what all these managers are doing behind the scenes anyways.

Robert actually such an awful final month that his numbers are bad.

Still confident he'll be great, I'm even hopefully he finally got out of it the last 2 games and he can contribute in the postseason.

Bieber will win the AL CY, but Maeda is a close 2nd... guy had a 0.75 WHIP (10BB in 66ip), which was better than Bieber
